Integrated die-casting

Integrated die casting (IDC) nature is a kind of traditional with die casting, the liquid metal into the mold in order to form a specific shape of the process, the metal cooling will form a complete part, without the need for welding or further manufacturing.

However, it is different from the traditional die casting four different places mainly lies in, it is integrated with the size of more and more large, the use of equipment clamping force is stronger, the mold manufacturing is more complex, die casting used in a traditional material is not the same. Its purpose is to reduce the cost of the manufacturing process through a one-time molding, greatly reduces the parts required for car assembly and improve efficiency.[1]

This new process has many different advantages and there are also many areas that need to be improved. It was first proposed and used as a solution by Elon musk in the manufacture of Tesla, the famous Giga Press program.[2]
