- OsmoseIt, you can't add requirements after the fact. See Commons:Village pump/Copyright#Osmosis Inc wants to specify place and manner of attribution for CC-BY-SA-4.0 videos: "They may ask, but they may not require, as their licenses are irrevocable." SarahSV (talk) 02:32, 12 May 2018 (UTC)
- Hi OsmoseIt. The derivative file clearly states the original author, the title, the original source, and a description of the modification made. The attribution was "at least as prominent as" – in fact, near identical to – the original on the date (4 April 2018) that the derivative was created. That complies fully with the terms of the CC-BY-SA 4.0 licence in force at the time. I'm afraid that the extra requirements added on your website on 11 May 2018 can't be made to retrospectively impose those conditions on derivatives made before that date, sorry. You could try asking for the file to be deleted from Commons on the grounds that you made a mistake with your original attribution requirements. I'm sympathetic to your concerns and would like you to get a resolution, and I'd even support such a request, but I can't agree that you have the right to demand it. I hope that helps. --RexxS (talk) 10:11, 12 May 2018 (UTC)
