Have surfed most of my life but never heard it called a "gash". Just "cutback" or in the case of a heavy cutback like this they might say "he was throwing buckets" (referring to the large amount of whitewater spray thrown out by the cutback). Is "gash" the new terminology?
- Good question ... the surfing article calls it a cutback and doesn't mention "gash" anywhere. I'll change the caption. howcheng {chat} 06:47, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
