Stock ticker info as part of logo?

Can Benstown (or anyone else) explain why the stock exchange ticker symbol is shown as part of the logo? Can this be removed? — RossO (talk) 22:34, 27 October 2020 (UTC)

@RossO: This is the logo used on Lithia's [ official website], and all their literature. This is a fairly recent branding change, the previous logo was indeed "Lithia Motors Inc.". I can't comment on the reasoning behind it, but it is a deliberate branding choice of Lithia. --Ben Stone 20:39, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

@RossO: If I remember correctly, what confused me when I uploaded it, is that http://www.lithiamotors.com/ uses the stock ticker logo, while https://www.lithia.com/ uses the Lithia Motors logo. I guess the simplest solution is to remove the stock ticker symbol and leave the basic logo. --Ben Stone 21:41, 29 October 2020 (UTC)

Transparent backgrounds required?

Benstown why was the background wash of white removed from the logo? Is this a standard? I generally run my web browsers in a dark mode for accessibility reasons. The placement of the black lettering on a dark background makes the logo illegible. I see in https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:SVG#Image_appearance that transparency is encouraged, but here the usage seems to create an inaccessible image. @Benstown: I've posted a suggestion on how to evaluate the needs for transparent backgrounds. I agree that what you've got here follows the rather uncodified style, but I think it really needs to be nailed down, or at least examined in light of dark modes and different contexts/background colors.
