Litter (alias Castlehyde), formerly known as Carrigneady, is a civil parish to the south of Glanworth and north-west of Fermoy. It is partly in the barony of Condons and Clangibbon but primarily in that of Fermoy and is in the county of Cork.

Acres

Acres (Na hAcraí) is a townland located to the north of Castlehyde East and Castlehyde West spanning 140.34 acres (0.5680 km²). It is a very slim townland home to Brownes Mobile Homes, a mobile home dealer and Amber Oils, a heating oil supplier.

Castlehyde East

Castlehyde East (Caisleán an Éidigh Thoir) is the biggest of the three Castlehyde townlands spanning 488.86 acres (1.9783 km²). It is the location of Castlehyde house, the ancestral home of Douglas Hyde and currently one of the many homes of Irish dancer, Michael Flatley. The house was built circa 1790. Located north of the house is Castlehyde Church Ruins. The church was dated in 1809 and remodelled circa 1830. It is now disused. Just across the road from the church is Castlehyde Stud, which is owned by Coolmore, the world's largest breeding operation of thoroughbred racehorses.
