The Music Legacy Tour.[1] is a concert tour by American recording artist, Diana Ross. The tour visits North America and Europe throughout 2023. The tour was announced through Diana Ross' newsletter [2] on March 27, 2023 and picked up by other sources[3][4][5].
"I’m delighted to announce “The Music Legacy Tour” 2023: a celebration of my greatest #1 hits! I’m coming home to the US to sing hit after hit from my solo career and my time with The Supremes. It’s going to be a love fest. I am so looking forward to making memories and more memories with all of you"[1].
Forbes described the tour "at a time when her legacy is more influential and celebrated than ever. Throughout her storied career, she has crafted a vibrant mosaic of achievements, seamlessly blending her many talents to entertain audiences around the world. As a testament to her enduring impact on the music industry, she has received countless honors" [6].
On May 23, it was announced that the tour would be extended to Europe. Two dates were added to the schedule in London.[7]. On June 14, the concert in the Netherlands and Antwerp were announced[8][9]. On July 24, the Copenhagen concert was added to the European list of concerts[10].
After the European leg, four more concerts have been added to the US leg of this tour[11].
Critical reception edit
Billboard's Joe Lynch reviewed the concert at Radio City Music Hall: "As she gracefully enters the next chapter of her remarkable life, Ross shows no signs of slowing down, and the quality of this tour is a testament to her timeless talent."[12].
The tour got positive reviews throughout various European newspapers. Andrew Perry from the Telegraph gave the performance in London four out of five stars: "The hits – and impossibly glamorous gowns – just kept coming as the 79-year-old diva swept through her astonishing career"[13]. Saskia Bosch from Trouw gave the Dutch performances four stars as well[14].
