The Irish Minstrels were a Chicago-based Irish band who were active from 1970 to 1990.
The original lineup consisted of Martin Smith (Dublin), Mike Duignan (Belfast), Terry Horan (Dublin), Danny O'Flaherty (Galway).
They released three albums - ‘Irelands Finest’, ‘Fiddlers Green’ and ‘The First Love In Life’.
The Irish Minstrel’s performed as the house band for a 14-year stint at the Emerald Isle Pub [1], first on Rush Street and later on Pearson Street in Chicago, Illinois.
They played and sang in many places, including at the 1972 Irish All Star Revue [2] at Matt Kane’s on the 13th Street and Massachusetts in Washington, D.C. along side Irish musicians such as Butch Moore & Maeve Mulvany, Carol McCarthy, Katie Hanley, John Masterson, and the Washington Bagpipers.
