Stick Figure Death Theatre was a formerly popular website that was created by Matt Calvert and was active between the years of 1996 to 2013 when it shut down. This website was where some notable animators like Edd Gould, creator of Eddsworld, posted his early work on there along with other animators like Rob Denbleyker who posted his Joe Zombie series on the website.
History
Initially the website hosted animations Matt Calvert had made but the website started accepting user submissions in around 2000, however users were limited to only posting GIFs until mid-2001 where they were able to post flash submissions too.
In around 2002 a forum was implemented into the site allowing users to communicate more efficiently with each other.
Shutdown
During summer 2013 the Stick Figure Death Theatre website went offline with a message that read “We'll be back shortly.”, but the website itself never returned.
