The Sabah women's state football team has been governed by the Sabah Football Association (Sabah FA) since 1984. The team has a history of playing and winning many national tournaments in Malaysia since their first title in 1988, and winning as champions in the 2023 season of the Malaysia National Women's League, which started in the inaugural 2022 season. They are now currently playing in the National League, and the 2024 Season's AFC Women's Champions League, qualifying the year before through the National League.
