Draft:Resignation of Joe Biden

The resignation of Joe Biden is an event involving the declining health of former President Joe Biden.[1]

Background

edit

Following the first 2024 United States presidential debate on June 27th Biden's poor performance on the stage raised questions on his ability to run for President, and many people were concerned about his health, age and cognitive function.[2] And following the Attempted assassination of Donald Trump. There were more requests for Joe Biden to resign from office because they didn't think that Joe Biden could win the upcoming elections scheduled in November.[3] But it became more clear when Joe Biden was diagnosed with COVID-19 on July 17, 2024.[4] Many people predicted that Joe Biden was going to drop out in the coming days, and most Democrats support Kamala Harris taking charge in the event of a resignation.[5][6]
