The Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA) is the high school graduation diploma awarded to students whose education follows an individualised learning plan. Students who work towards the attainment of a QCIA cannot work towards the attainment of a Queensland Certificate of Education.[1]
Students with disabilities are not automatically eligible to work towards a QCIA. [2]
The QCIA provides students with an overview statement of their skills, so that when they graduate, they have something to present to prospective employers or training providers.[3]
877 graduates exited high school with a QCIA in 2016. This is an increase from the previous year, where 743 students graduated with a QCIA.[4]
