How to improve a draft
You can also browse Wikipedia:Featured articles and Wikipedia:Good articles to find examples of Wikipedia's best writing on topics similar to your proposed article. Improving your odds of a speedy review To improve your odds of a faster review, tag your draft with relevant WikiProject tags using the button below. This will let reviewers know a new draft has been submitted in their area of interest. For instance, if you wrote about a female astronomer, you would want to add the Biography, Astronomy, and Women scientists tags. Editor resources

Submission declined on 11 November 2023 by Utopes (talk). This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies. Declined by Utopes 7 months ago. |

- Comment: Sourcing is very weak; a number of the ref 11 onwards sources are to SEO / press release republishers such as Technical.ly. Tagishsimon (talk) 04:38, 22 November 2023 (UTC)
- Comment: Reads primarily as an advertisement, with no claim to notability besides merely existing. Talks about the grants they've received and what they're pursuing, but most coverage seems primary. The recently added sources came from company interviews. - Comment: Where are the secondary sources establishing notability? Drmies (talk) 17:25, 10 November 2023 (UTC)

NearStar Fusion is an American company developing fusion power plants based on hypervelocity plasma railgun technology. The company is pursuing a pulsed impact fusion method with magnetized deuterium/deuterium fuel targets.
History
editNearStar Fusion was founded in April of 2021 by Dr. Douglas Witherspoon and Chris Faranetta. Doug and Chris previously worked at HyperJet Fusion together where they designed and developed plasma guns in partnership with Los Alamos National Laboratory for over a decade.
Dr. Witherspoon has a PhD in Plasma Physics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and was the former president of the Washington Academy of Sciences. Doug has 6 patents.[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] in pulsed energy technologies and a number of publications[7] [8] [9] [10] related to railguns.
Amit Singh joined NearStar Fusion in March of 2023[11] initially as the Director of Corporate Development and getting promoted to CEO in May 2023.
Concept
editNearStar Fusion was initially pursuing an approach called Hypervelocity Gradient Field Fusion (HGFF)[12][13] and modified their approach to a pulsed impact approach using Magnetized target fusion.[14] The fuel used in the magnetized targets is designed for deuterium-deuterium (D-D).
