Early Life

edit

Nathania's career began at an early age. In February 2004, five-year-old Nathania sang the National Day (Singapore) anthem Home (Kit Chan song), before a live audience that included Singapore's late President S. R. Nathan.[4] When she was 12, at the Youth Olympic Games closing ceremony in Singapore in 2010, Nathania led the choir in singing Singapore's national anthem Majulah Singapura, to a 27,000-strong live audience and viewers around the world.[5]

"Singing was always a huge part of my family... All three of my sisters and I loved to sing, and that love came from our dad."[6]

Nathania applied to five drama schools in the United Kingdom, but was rejected from all, and ended up enrolling at LASALLE College of the Arts.[7] She later auditioned for, and was accepted into, Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.[8]

Musical Career

edit

Within weeks of her graduation from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in 2021,[9] Nathania made her professional debut in the sci-fi musical Be More Chill (musical) as Jenna Rolan, joining its West End theatre transfer from The Other Palace.[10][11]

Nathania was offered the role of Éponine in the West End theatre production of Les Misérables (musical) by Cameron Mackintosh.[12] She sang a rendition of On My Own (Les Misérables) to a 12,000-strong audience at Manchester's Manchester Arena for National Lottery (United Kingdom)'s Big Night of Musicals 2023.[13]
