Maria Teresa Chialant (born 27 December 1940) is a literary critic and former professor at the University of Salerno, Italy. She is "socio onorario" of the "Osservatorio interdipartimentale per gli Studi di Genere e le Pari Opportunità"[1] She is best known for her work on Victorian literature and is the author of Letteratura e femminismi. Teorie della critica in area inglese e americana (2001), L'impulso autobiografico. When she retired the Academic staff of the University of Salerno dedicated to her a volume of essays with the title Gender/genre.
