The 1200 series were rail cars made by Hawker Siddeley and used on the MBTA Orange Line in Boston, Massachusetts. Entering service in 1981, they served 40 years on the line, operating from the last years of the Washington Street Elevated until their retirement in 2022. They were built to replace the old 1100 series fleet introduced in the 1950s. Most of the cars have been scrapped after being replaced by the 1400 series cars, however some still remain intact on MBTA property, though not in revenue service.
