- Comment: WP:NCORP requires WP:SIGCOV sources. Currently we have highclouds which is a merely an announcement with only a passing mention of the label; dallasobserver is an interview (primary source); and texasmonthly only mentions the label near the end of the article. Luminelle Recordings is an independent record label founded in 2017 by Gorilla vs. Bear's Chris Cantalini in partnership with Fat Possum / House Arrest Distribution.
History
editChris Cantalini, founder of Texas-based music blog and Sirius XM show Gorilla vs. Bear, founded Luminelle with Fat Possum in 2017.[1]
After running Gorilla vs. Bear for 13 years, Cantalini was approached by Fat Possum's Peter Wiley. Recognizing Cantalini's knack for discovering talent already akin to an A&R role, Wiley proposed the idea of founding his own label.[2][3]
Luminelle's first signed artist was Montreal-based Helena Deland, releasing her single "There Are A Thousand."[4] Together, they released numerous EPs and Deland's debut album, Someone New. Since then, Luminelle has signed Magdalena Bay, Hana Vu, MUNYA, and Enumclaw.[5]
