Lionel "L-Boy" Boyce is an American actor, writer, and producer. He is known from his role as a non-musical member and hype man of the alternative hip-hop collective Odd Future, with whom he appeared in the sketch comedy series Loiter Squad (2012–2014).[1] He is also known for co-creating and appearing in the animated series The Jellies! (2017–2019)[2] and for his role as Marcus in the series The Bear (2022–present).[1][3][4]
Early life and career edit
Boyce grew up in Inglewood, California. Boyce went to high school with Tyler, the Creator, with whom he later created the comedy series Loiter Squad alongside the other members of their hip-hop collective Odd Future.[3]
In 2022, Boyce began playing Marcus, an ambitious pastry chef, on the FX on Hulu series The Bear, for which he has received two Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series nominations along with the rest of the cast.[5]
In 2024, Boyce was cast in the Max Minghella film Shell.[6]
