The Liberal Revolutionary Movement (MRL), was a Colombian political movement dissident from the traditional Liberal Party, and in opposition to the National Front. It was founded by Alfonso López Michelsen, who would later become president of Colombia, and Álvaro Uribe Rueda.
The first years were successful, but by the 1964 elections they were divided between an establishment faction that would later return to the Liberal Party, and an abstentionist one, more inclined towards the left and under the influence of the Cuban Revolution.
The movement began to decline in 1966 with the ruling faction entering into an alliance with the Liberal Party and later on fully uniting with it. After this union in 1967 and with the appointment of López Michelsen to the Government of Cesar, the MRL was dissolved.
The abstentionist faction later joined the National Liberation Army.
