Laura S Boylan is a neurologist in New York City.[1] She has served as an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the New York University School of Medicine, the director of the behavioral neurology clinic for the VA in New York City, and an attending physician at a hospital in Pennsylvania.[1]

Laura Boylan graduated and received a Bachelor of Arts from Barnard College and her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.[2] She completed an internship at St Vincent's Hospital and finished her residency in neurology at the Neurological Institute at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City.[2] Her passion to study neurology evolved from a desire to cure her family disease. [3]

Research and Career edit

Boylan began her research career at a job in the HIV Center for Clinical and Behavioral Research at the New York State Psychiatric Institute. [3] Her advisor inspired her to go back to medical school. [3] She then went on to complete research in the psychiatric manifestation of neurologic disease, a focus of her current research. [3] She switched to Locum Tenens work after NYU to serve more underprivileged communities[3]. Boylan has also taught as an honorary assistant professor in formal didactics and clinical rounds in hospitals in Addis Ababa and Gondar in Ethiopia[3].

Personal Life edit

Boylan grew up in New York City on Manhattan's Upper East Side. She has an older brother of 2 years, Ross Boylan. [1] She is married to another physician, Daniel Labovitz, a professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. [1] She had given birth to her first child when she started medical school.[3]
