Kumayl Alloo (Arabic: كُمَيْل أَللو; Urdu: كميل ألو) is a Tanzanian-American qāriʾ (reciter of the Qur'an) and research scholar.

Distinguished by his unique and melodious styles of recitation (qira'at), his achievements in recent Qur'an competitions have garnered both national and international acclaim.[1] In 2021, he won the international Iqra' (اقرأ) Qur'an Recitation Competition, becoming the first Tanzanian-American to do so.[2][3]
Alloo is currently an undergraduate student at Columbia University and a researcher at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in Manhattan, New York, with academic interests in neurodegeneration, clinical medicine, cognitive neuroscience, and Arabic linguistics.[4][5] He speaks English, Spanish, Arabic, Kutchi, Swahili, Hindi-Urdu, and Gujarati.[6]
