Joseph Coelho is a poet and children's book author. In 2015 he won the CLPE children’s poetry award for Werewolf Club Rules![1], a poetry collection.[2][3] In 2020 Zombierella, the first of a planned set of three horror middle grade books, was published.[4] It has made the longlist of the Diverse Book Awards for Children's Books.[5] The Girl Who Became a Tree, a verse novel, made the long list for the 2020 Carnegie medal.[6] One of his most well known poems is ‘If All the World Were Paper’.[7][8]

Biography

Coelho was born in Wandsworth[9] and grew up in Roehampton, a district of South-West London, the child of a single parent.[10]
