Jesse McNamara (born July 5, 1995), also known by their YouTube handle Plumbella, is a British YouTuber. McNamara is best known for playing The Sims 4 and for their collaboration with EA on The Sims 4: Pastel Pop Kit.

editIn 2013, McNamara started making YouTube videos about The Sims, playing many iterations of the game but primarilyThe Sims 4. McNamara's most popular YouTube video, "Installing a Banned Expansion Pack for The Sims" has 1.8 million views.[2] As of December 2023, McNamara has over 796 000 subscribers and they post multiple times a week. They have stated that their YouTube handle Plumbella is a combination of "Plumbob," the diamond-shaped icon on top of sims heads, and "Isabella," their niece's name.[3]
McNamara is known for their Sims challenges and build, such as the "twins experiment"[4] and Wednesday's Nevermore Academy,[5] as well as for their "Entire History Of" videos where they discuss the little known facts, drama, and lore of The Sims franchise.[6]
McNamara has one other notable YouTube channel, Plumbella Streams. It was created in 2020 and contains edited highlights of their Twitch streams. As of December 2023, it has over 58,000 subscribers.[7]

McNamara collaborated with EA for the 2022 The Sims 4: Pastel Pop Kit, advising developers and art directors on items and the theme of the kit.[6][11][12][13][14][15] McNamara's Kit has been praised for being higher quality than previous kits, and for its inclusion of wallpaper, flooring, and an interactive item, as most other Kits do not contain them.[6][16]
They have a clothing and art company, Lunar Isle, "inspired by things [they] love."[3]

editMcNamara attended Teesside University, receiving a bachelor's degree in history[6] and a master's degree in digital communication and media in 2019.[17]
Personal life
editMcNamara was born in Middlesbrough, England, to parents Julie and Joe.[18][19] McNamara has stated they have a "big, massive family," including one sister, Joanna, and one brother, Joe, as well as five nieces and nephews.[18][20][21]
They began playing the first The Sims iteration when they were five,[3][21] describing themselves as not fitting in as a child and finding "solace in The Sims."[11] McNamara has stated that they are autigender and asexual,[22] as well as vegan.[23] They have also been very open about being autistic[22][24] and struggling with their mental health.[6]
