Early career

edit

Jaye Sera started training in 2014 with Philippine Wrestling Revolution, during the independent promotion's early stages. She was invited into a Facebook group of fellow wrestling fans in late 2013, who were discussing establishing a wrestling promotion in the country. Sera, alongside the pioneer batch of PWR, attended the Joshi + Jam event on January 25, 2014 at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City, which featured wrestlers like Tajiri and Syuri and other names from REINA Joshi Puroresu and Wrestling New Classic.

During Jaye's early training with PWR, she trained with wrestlers like Jake de Leon, Bombay Suarez, Ken Warren, and American pro wrestler Josh Bauserman. Jaye Sera had her first ever practice match against JDL (Jake de Leon) in 2014.

She stopped training in 2014 when her parents refused to approve her participation in the sport. In 2017 however, they no longer stopped her from pursuing wrestling even though they still weren't on board with the idea. She trained again from October 2017 - December 2018 before finally making her official debut in January 2019[2].

Wrestling era

edit

Jaye Sera debuted against Jhemmherlhynn at PWR Live: New Year's Wrestle-ution[3] on January 27, 2019, scoring a win via pin-fall after a dirty tactic[4]. She continued to feud with JML until the 2nd and 3rd PWR Live shows (PWR Live: Nice! in February, and Path of Gold in March[4]). Sera feuded with all active female wrestlers on the roster in 2019: Jhemmherlhynn, Robynn, Crystal, and Nina individually.

Sera won a 1-on-1 women's match against Crystal at PWR Live: Renaissance on August 25, 2019[5] and later won a 4-way women's match against JML, Robynn, and Nina at PWR Special: Homecoming on October 12, 2019[6]

On her interview with Diego Pryme, Jaye Sera considers the following matches as her two biggest highlights in her wrestling career[7]

  • Main Event 4-Way Match at PWR Live: Championship Spirit[8] on July 28, 2019 vs. Riho, Jibzy, and Crystal[9]
  • 1-on-1 Intergender Match at PWR Live: Mabuhay ang Wrestling[10] on January 26, 2020 vs. Jake de Leon[11]

She lost in both matches, but says it was the adrenaline, drive, and overall energy of those matches that made them her top favorites.
