James K. Groves (August 29, 1910 – April 6, 1980)[1] was an associate justice of the Colorado Supreme Court from 1968 to 1981.
Born in Grand Junction, Colorado, Groves attended Colorado Mesa University and "received his undergraduate degree in 1932 from the University of Colorado. He was graduated with honors from the University of Colorado Law School in 1935".[1]

Groves was appointed to the court to fill the remainder of the term from which Justice Leonard v. B. Sutton had resigned to take a federal position. Groves was sworn in on May 14, 1968.[2]
