Ironland is a micronation created by the YouTuber _magnify. Ironland is a 12 foot circle around an iron statue. The nation was officially founded on June 26, 2024[1], and was originally created to be a learning aid to @_magnify in discussing micronations during a video. Despite this, it fulfills all requirements to be a real micronation under the Montevideo Convention, with territory, population, a government and contact with other nations.Citizenship is gained by commenting on a Youtube Shorts video.[2]

editIronland was officially founded on June 26, 2024 and was created to be a learning aid. Ironland did meet the requirements of theMontevideo Convention [3] as of June 26, 2024. [2]

editThe first Ironland election was held deciding what side a cardboard robot (Ironland's 1st and only resident as of 13th of June, 2024). 15,148 Ironland Citizens participated in the election. As of 13th of July, 2024 there is currently a second ongoing election about the colors of the countries flag. [4]

editThe first Ironland embassy was announced by @_magnify on July 3, 2024 in another video, and is located at the Dolly Parton Statue in Sevierville, Tennessee. The total number of embassies globally, along with their locations, remain unknown. This is due to the fact that during the same video, @_magnify encouraged viewers to create their own embassies by simply placing a clothing iron on top of a printout of the nation's flag. Despite this, any embassies would be legally invalid. This is because an embassy requires the consent of the country it is being hosted in, a fact which @_magnify openly discusses.[5]
International Relations
editAccording to a video by the nation's founder, the government of Romania reached out via social media to express interest in diplomatic talks with Ironland. Romania claims that talks an embassy officially Recognized in Romania would commence after they got to 2 Million Followers on the social media platform TikTok , possibly in at the Biertan fortified church in Biertan, Romania. As of July 13, 2024 they have hit their 2 Million target suggesting that talks on the embassy have started.[6] [7]
