The game consists of 4 maps, which are:

  1. World 1936
  2. Europe 1936
  3. Asia 1936
  4. Spain 1936 (which bases on the Spanish Civil War scenario)

The game also offers a map editor, which grants the user an option to modify, delete and add countries, names and flags to the map.

Community

edit

As for the community of the game, they communicate through the Discord server[2][3] link on the social links below on both games description on their respective Roblox game pages.

It is also added that there is a YouTube communuity, also denominated as IAYT (Iron Assault YouTube), in where content creators play/talk about this game.

Gameplay

edit

The games have different ways to be played.

In Iron Assault 1, the game is turn-based (even through it calls itself an RTS[4]), having 3 turns.

In Iron Assault 2, the game is in real time.

Iron Assault 1 Gameplay

edit

This game is separated & looped between the:

  1. Buying Units Phase
  2. Moving Units Phase
  3. Attack Phase

Buying Units Phase
edit

In the first phase, the user recieves Resources, which are granted depending on: Ideology, Productivity, and City Amount. They can spend it on: Buying/Upgrading cities the player has on his control, buying troops, boats, tanks or nukes (which the player decides how much they want to buy), or giving resources to other nations/players.

The cost of the units and cities are below.

  • Infantry Units/Soldier Units: 1 resource per unit.
  • Tank Units: 3 resources per unit.[5]
  • Boat Units: 5 resources per unit.
  • Buying/Uprgading City: 10 per city.[6]
  • Nuke Unit: 30 resources per nuke.[7]

This phase lasts 15 seconds before passing by the next phase.

Moving Units Phase
edit

In the second phase, the user can move their units through the territory that he owns or the one that his allies have. They can't move units in a country if they're at war, but when both countries are at peace and aren't allied, the user is given the option to ask for permission to move their troops on the territory they asked to move in. The movement in the sea tiles or by boats is somewhat different. One cannot control sea tiles, but move boats with troops inside them.

This phase lasts 45 seconds before the final phase.

Attack Phase
edit

In this last phase, the player is given the option to attack units and conquer territories by land or sea. The attack system is known for being luck and number based, which can lead to uncertain results. After this 60 second phase, the game will loop between these 3 phases until the limit year is reached (by default, 1946, but in map editor this can be changed).

Ideologies & Political Power Mechanics

edit

In Iron Assault, the user recieves Political Power in the same turn they recieve resources. This Political Power can be used in a large variety of options. With certain amount of Political Power they can:

  • Declare war
  • Form Alliances with other nations[8]
  • Promote Ideology[9]
  • Make Political Decisions

Political Decisions are in the player's country tab. They can increase or decrease the productivity, and increase by 10%, 20% or even 30% selected ideology from the Political Decision. These ideologies can be:

Note that Non-Aligned can't be obtained through Political Decisions, but from liberation by another Non-Aligned country.[10]

Productivity Mechanics

edit

As mentioned before, Productivity acts as the economic performance of the player's country, which, depending on the amount, can cause disadvantges such as lower resource and poltical power gathering, and, if low enough, can cause a civil war on the country, which creates a new country on the player's territory (if it haves more than 1 tile) called "[Country's Name] Opposition".

Research Mechanic

edit

Research Points can unlock different upgrades, such as tanks, improved infantry/ships, major cities and nuclear bombs. They cant be obtanied by conquering land or sending resources to other countries (works once per year, you earn the amount of research points by the amount of resources you send). Every land tile has a research value, going from 0 to 7 (by default maps) research points.

The following list has the research tables and values on IA1:

  • Improved Infantry: 10 Research Points
  • Early Tanks: 15 Research Points
  • Improved Ships: 15 Research Points
  • Advanced Tanks: 20 Research Points[11]
  • Major Cities: 30 Research Points
  • Nuclear Warheads: 50 Research Points

  8. ^ Alliances are formed after the country accepts to be in a military alliance. The player/bot can reject it, depending on Ideology or status (major powers would reject minor nations if they're bots). Bots can send alliance requests too (can be randomly or when liberated, the liberated country offers you an alliance)
  9. ^ When selected, the player influences said country he wants to influence his ideology in. This increases the ideology percent of the player's country ideology, but in the affected country it decreases its productivity by 10% every time it's promoted.
