Draft:Henryk Andrzej Kronenberg

Henryk Andrzej Kronenberg (born 1 July 1813, died 9 September 1886 in Montreux[1]) – Polish physician of Jewish origin, member of the banking Kronenberg family.

He was the son of the merchant Samuel Eleazar Kronenberg (1773-1826) and Teresa (Tekla) Lewy Kronenberg (1775-1848), one of seven siblings: Ludwik, Rozalia, Stanisław Salomon, Dorota (the mother of Seweryn Loewenstein [pl]), Maria, Leopold Stanisław and Władysław Alfons Kronenberg [pl]. His eldest sibling Ludwik (born Lewek or "Yehuda Arie Leib") was the only one whose family remained Jewish, while Henryk and the other siblings each converted to various forms of Christianity.

He was a doctor of medicine but it is not known which medical school he graduated from. For a time he was chief physician of the Moscow children's hospital. Later he moved to Warsaw. He became chairman of the Praga Hospital's Welfare Council. On June 12, 1874, he was given the rank of real State Counselor. On May 4, 1875, he received the hereditary nobility of the Russian Empire with the Koroniec coat of arms.

His daughter Emilia married Polish industrialist Jan Gotlib Bloch, whose family had often been in competition with the Kronenbergs.
