Early life edit

He began his career in 1984 as an assistant to Mike Bongiorno on television shows such as Superflash, Pentatlon, and TeleMike. In the late '90s, he joined his family's business, which specialized in the construction of theme parks, resort hotels, and casinos. During this period, he contributed to various significant projects, including the Fantasy Kingdom at Gardaland, the FEC at the Benetton Megastore, and other major attractions worldwide, serving as a set designer, sculptor, and artistic director.[citation needed]

Career edit

In 2003, Mazzoli transitioned to television authorship and collaborated on various formats for Mediaset, Sky, MTV, AliceTV, and Cinecittà Entertainment. In 2004, he created a primetime format for Rete4, produced by Mediaset and Cinecittà Entertainment.[citation needed]

Over the years, Mazzoli also collaborated with Fondazione Prada, serving as an artistic director and producer for works such as "Synchro System (Upside Down Mushroom Room)" by artist Carsten Höller and "Turn Into Me" by Nathalie Djurberg, which won the Silver Lion at the Venice Biennale.[citation needed]

In 2011, along with his cousin Marco Mazzoli of Radio 105, he co-authored the novel "Radio-grafia di un Dj che non piace," published by Rizzoli.[1] In 2012, he released the thriller "Lo Specchio del Male" with Tre60, the new TEA brand of Gruppo editoriale Mauri Spagnol.[2] The book was recommended as one of the top five thrillers for summer 2012 and among the best five titles for Christmas 2014 by Panorama.[3]

On November 27, 2012, again with his cousin Marco, Mazzoli published the book "Non mollare mai! - Sfighe e rivincite dello Zoo di 105" with Mondadori.[4]

On November 29, 2013, he published with Sperling & Kupfer[5] the first book of the saga "The Magical Lands of Midendhil" titled "The Mission of the Last Guardian," also released in Bulgaria[6], Brazil[7], and the United States.[8] The Midendhil world expanded through a website and other projects[9], partnering with the United Nations World Food Programme. The Midendhil novel inspired a new night show at Mirabilandia, written and directed by Davide Simon Mazzoli.[10]

In 2015, he wrote, produced, and directed the feature film "On Air - Storia di un successo," based on the novel "Radio-grafia di un Dj che non piace." Distributed by Medusa Film, the film was co-written by Mazzoli and Ugo Chiti.[11]

On February 28, 2023, he co-authored a book with his cousin Marco titled "Otto ..... di storie," published by Mondadori.[13] He is also the promoter of the Mazzoliverse, a metaverse on The Nemesis platform, where his new TV format "Fight Back: sfida fino all'ultima parola" is broadcast. The show is produced by Visionaria Film and hosted by his cousin Marco Mazzoli, Paolo Noise, and Fabio Alisei, with the special participation of Stefano Chiodaroli.[14][15]
