In September 2016, the film rights for the game were acquired by Good Universe.[1] No further development on the film had been announced until August 2020, when Snoot Entertainment had acquired the rights, with Good Universe's involvement ending after being purchased by Lionsgate. Game developers Sean Vanaman and Jake Rodkin will serve as producers on the film.[2]
