Expedition of Al Kharrar took place in May of 623 AD was the third expedition sent out by the prophet Muhammad.[1]

Events edit

Muhammad Ordered Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas and a number of the Muhajirun to intercept a caravan belonging to Quraysh. Reports state twenty or sixty Muhajareen were with him. They left on foot, hiding during the daytime and walking at night until they reached Al-Kharrar. The Prophet told them not to travel beyond there,[2] but they found that the caravan had passed that point. Consequently, they returned to Medina and did not intercept the caravan.[3][4]
