Dejan Cirkvenčič

Dejan Cirkvenčič, born in 1971 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, is a Slovenian musician, songwriter, singer and rapper, magazine editor, graphic designer, art director, photographer, and creator of several commercial products.

From 1993 to 1998, he lived as a monk in the temple of the International Society For Krishna Consciousness in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He is a practicing bhakti-yogi and spiritualist. He is also known as Dhyan.

In 2007, he co-founded an ethno and electronic duo Supersoul Connection[1]. They published two official albums: Klik![2] (Nika Records, Slovenia, 2007), and Supersoul Collection[3] (Dallas Records, Slovenia, 2022). Their songs are frequently broadcast on Slovenian National Radio and TV Stations, Val 202 and RTV Slovenija. Their single "No to Violence”[4] was published on Oprah Winfrey’s website. It is translated into 15 World Languages and was showcased on HD Fest in Sony Theaters in New York. Supersoul Connection is a studio duo Their audience saw them play live only once, on Sunday’s live television show.

Dejan Cirkvenčič started his career as an editor-in-chief in 2000. He founded Slovenian music best-selling magazine Frka. Besides that, he was editor-in-chief of three other notable Slovenian magazines: Karma, Salomonov Ugankar, and Revija Om.

In 2019, he had the first exhibition of his photography works on Art Basel Miami, Scope Gallery, Florida, USA. He published his photography book, ‘Cataloguing In Publication Vol. 1[5]’ in 2020. His works are regularly featured on VSCO[6] (Visual Supply Co.). In 2019, PH Museum (Photography Museum) declared him as one of the top 100 street photographers in the World.

His graphic design opus is wide and numerous. He designed a CD cover for Mute Records, United Kingdom, ‘Trans Slovenia Express Vol 2, Kraftwerk covers’. As a graphic designer (and illustrator), he is known by his alias Re:Format.

Dejan Cirkvenčič created many commercial products of which Rice Butterflies[7] - The Wedding Confetti gained International fame and recognition. Rice Butterflies were published in Brides Magazine, New York, Perfect Wedding, UK, County Weddings, UK, and many others. Other notable and recognized product is the phone application he created called "Yogaraga: Music & Meditation Sessions App[8]".
