Borislav Tadić (born 1 February 1982, Banja Luka) is a businessman in telecommunication sector and social informatics scientist, currently serving as the member of the executive board of 1&1 Versatel GmbH, part of the United Internet Group since 2023.[1]

Early life and Education

Borislav was born in Banja Luka, where he completed elementary school and gymnasium.[2][3]

Tadic holds the Ph.D in economics (Dr.rer.pol. Wirtschaftswissenschaften) from the University of Siegen (Universität Siegen) and Master of Science (Dipl.-Ing.) degree in software development and business management from Graz University of Technology (Technische Universität Graz).[4]

His works on ICT use[5], online security and privacy of socio-political activists, conflict IT[6] and informatics for peace [7][8] have been published in various international journals. The result of multi-year design case study as the part of this research, Cyberactivist, is a free tool for raising awareness on privacy and security of social media use for activists[9][10], whose prototype is available as open-source.[11] He completed executive education in the field of artificial intelligence and disruptive innovations at Stanford University (USA)[12] and London Business School (UK).

Career

Between 2009 and 2023, Borislav held management positions in the Deutsche Telekom, latest being the Senior Vice President in Technology (DT Technik) focused on roll-out, modernization and maintenance of telecommunications networks in the North.[13][14][15][16]

In 2023 he became Chief Production Officer (CPO) of 1&1 Versatel, part of the United Internet Group, on 1 April 2023, in charge of scaling and modernizing the high-speed telecommunication network.[17]

Engagement

As the holder of numerous international awards and certificates[18][19][20], Borislav is engaged in humanitarian, academic and professional context, such as advisor for Connect the Unconnected initiative[21], jury member[22] or mentor for the entrepreneurs.[23][24][25][26]

His contributions have been published in traditional and digital media around the world.[27][28] Borislav is also a frequent speaker at events in the domain of innovation, digitization and strategy.[29] [30] [31] [32] [33][34]

Beside Bosnia and Herzegovina and Germany, Tadic lived in Austria, Switzerland, South Africa and California/USA, and travelled to more than 66 countries by 2019. [35][36][37]
