The attack on Teslić was an attempt by the ARBiH to occupy Teslić and the surrounding settlements.[1] All attacks on the city were successfully defended by the Army of Republika Srpska.[2] After the signing of the Washington Agreement in late march 1994, on ending the war between Muslims and Croats in the Tešanj-Maglaj enclave, the ARBiH saves significant forces that were on the front lines against the 111th HVO brigade from Žepče and transfers them to the Serbian front line towards Teslić.[3][4]

In the Tešanjsko-Maglaj enclave of the ARBiH as part of the 7th TG "South" until the middle of 1994 (it refers to the 2nd Corps (Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina) and then the 3rd Corps (Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina)), it includes four brigades and one independent battalion. In the northeast of the enclave there is also the 110th brigade of HVO "Usora" (held to the Muslim side) with 2,000 men. With the signing of the Muslim-Croat peace.[5]
Timeline of the Attack
editThe Serbian side realizes that the town of Teslić is in danger, because it was only 5 km from the front line, and the 1st Krajina Corps is facing a danger from the front to the west. The Army of Republika Srpska was ready to defend Teslić, Banja Vrućica and the surrounding settlements and will justify it. The most powerful and well-prepared attack on Teslić so far begins on October 3 and lasts a little more than a week.Operational Group "North" of the 3rd Corps (Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina) was involved in the attack.[6][7] The 202nd Mountain Brigade of the ARBiH begins the attack and attacks the positions of the 1st Teslić Brigade and advances to the suburbs of Teslić and Banja Vrućica and captures the Husar Peak. The ARBiH targeted settlements near Teslić with artillery attacks, fortunately they could not cause much damage, because the Army of Republika Srpska did not allow the enemy to approach the town of Teslić, but the people were worried about what would happen if the ARBiH entered Teslić.But with a counteroffensive on October 10 and 11, the Army of Republika Srpska regained the lost lines and returned the Muslim fighters to their initial positions.[8] And with that, she saved Teslić from potential attacks until the end of the war.[9][10]
