Amira Marijam Aly (* September 28, 1992 in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee;[1][2] from 2019 to 2024 Amira Pocher) is an Austrian presenter, podcaster and It girl. She became famous as the wife ofOliver Pocher.
Early life and education
editAly grew up with her 2 years older brother at their mother's house in Austria. Her mother runs a dance studio for Belly dancing.[3][4] . When Aly was three years old, her father left the family and went back to his home country Egypt.[3] After twenty years of no contact to him, Aly met her father again in 2018.[5] At 15, because of her at that time conflict-ridden relationship to her mother and her stepfather, Aly lived in a Crisis intervention center.[6] Aly was at a sports school (a school with a focus on sports) and graduated there. After that, she completed an apprenticeship as a hairdresser.[7]
At 22, Aly came to Germany, where she trained to become a Make up artist and worked as a model.[8] 2016 she met Oliver Pocher on a Dating app; in Oktober 2019 they married[9][10] and Aly took his name. Their two sons were born in 2019 and in 2020.[11][12] In March 2020 she was on TV for the first time, on the show Pocher vs. Wendler – Schluss mit lustig! on RTL.[13][14] In the same year, appearances on Das Spiel beginnt! on ZDF and on the show 5 gegen Jauch on RTL followed, as well as the start of the podcast Die Pochers, that Aly and her husband made together. The podcast was produced until 2023.[15] Aly also appeared on the Late-night show of her husband, Pocher – gefährlich ehrlich! as his Sidekick.[16] In 2020 together with her fashion label Mania, Aly released a collection for breastfeeding people, babys and the people around them.[17]
In 2022 she founded the cosmetics brand Fayble. In the same year she took fourth place on the show Let’s Dance. In 2023, together with Peter Wright, Aly appeared on the Promi-Darts-WM on ProSieben. She also started the podcast Hey Amira! on RTL.[18]
In August 2023 Amira and Oliver Pocher announced that they seperated.[19] Aly is now in a relationship with the presenter Christian Düren.[20] In August 2024 after Aly and Pocher got divorced, Aly retook her birth name.[21][22]
