Agustín Antonetti (January 3, 2001) is an Argentine activist known for his work on human rights and democracy in Latin America. He currently serves as the Director of Latin America Watch at the Fundación Libertad.

Agustín Antonetti began his social work at a young age, at 15, after a trip to Cuba as a tourist. During his stay on the island, he was moved by the social situation he observed, particularly by the evident fear among children to express themselves freely. This experience led him to delve into the political and social situation of Cuba and other Latin American countries.[1]
Upon returning from his trip, Antonetti became actively involved in social media, using these platforms to research and connect with people in Venezuela, Nicaragua, and other countries in the region. His interest in these countries arose from his observation that they all faced similar problems, including "repression of political dissent."
Over the years, Antonetti has amassed a large following on his social media platforms, reaching over 150,000. He uses these platforms to denounce and raise awareness about human rights and democracy in Latin America and worldwide, gaining both supporters and detractors.

During the July 11, 2021 protests in Cuba, the Cuban government blamed Agustín Antonetti for creating the hashtag '#SOSCuba' on the social media platform Twitter with the alleged aim of destabilizing the Cuban government and calling for mass protests in the country. This accusation sparked intense debate in the media and on social networks about Antonetti's role in the protests and his possible influence on the protest movement[2].[3][4][5]

Agustín Antonetti is currently the director of Latin America Watch at the Libertad Foundation, where he leads initiatives to monitor and advocate for human rights and democracy in Latin America.
His work in this organization focuses on researching and documenting human rights violations, as well as promoting citizen participation and strengthening democratic institutions in the region.
In addition to his work at the Libertad Foundation, Antonetti continues to be an active advocate on social media, using his platform to raise awareness and mobilize the international community in support of the causes he defends.
