Abayomi Adeyeri, MNIM, HCIB (born 27 October 1968) is a Nigerian banker and businessman who holds a bachelor's degree in Botany from Ondo State University (1990) and MBA in Marketing from University of Maiduguri (1994). He is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management and National Institute of Marketing. He lectured briefly in University of Maiduguri between 1993 and 1995 before changing his career path to banking in 1996 when he joined Diamond Bank Nigeria and later moved to Standard Trust Bank and Prudent Bank as Customer Service Manager. He joined Ecobank Nig Limited in 2004 where he performed various roles ranging from Head, Marketing to Branch Manager, later Area Manager, all in Delta State. He subsequently moved beyond Delta State to head Public Sector, South South and South East, covering 11 states in Nigeria.[1]. After voluntarily resigning from Ecobank Plc., Abayomi Adeyeri assumed office as the Chief Marketing officer of Flobal Trust Limited[2][3][4]. He is currently the Group Managing Director of Flobal Financial Services Limited[5], a Finance Company licensed by Central Bank of Nigeria to play a complementary role to Commercial Banks in the business of financial intermediation and financial advisory services. He was recently awarded a fellow of the Institute of Credit Administration, Nigeria.

Abayomi is also the author of Multiple Bold Steps, a book meant to empower the youths and also help both employees and entrepreneurs locate their positions in the cycle of life[6][7][8]

Early life

Abayomi was born in Owo, Ondo State, Nigeria and has seven other siblings. His father was a Vice School Principal and Board Member of Adeyeri Grammar School owned by Abayomi's grandfather. Abayomi's Father later joined Owo high school as the School Principal, while his mother was a Lecturer at Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti and the first woman Dean at Bamidele Olumilua University of Education. Abayomi's mother was a Professor at the University of Maiduguri before she passed away in 1998. Abayomi is the first child of his parents. He attended Owo High School Owo, Ondo State where he obtained his West African School Certificate (WASC) and Higher School Certificate.

Career

Diamond bank

Abayomi spent five years in Diamond Bank. He started with the Bank in Cash & Teller Unit and moved to Customer Service Unit. He left Diamond Bank in 2001.

Prudent Bank (Polaris Bank)

Abayomi joined Prudent Bank (Polaris Bank Limited), as a Customer Service Manager (Head of Operations) for Prudent Bank Yenagoa in Bayelsa State (2001-2002) and later redeployed to Port Harcourt, Rivers State (2002-2004). He left Prudent Bank in 2004.

Ecobank

Abayomi spent ten years in Ecobank before voluntarily resigning in 2015 as the Regional Head, South South and South East, covering eleven states.

Flobal Financial Services Limited

Abayomi is currently the Group Managing Director of Flobal Financial Services Limited and sits on the board of Flobal Trust Limited and Flobal Financial Services Limited

Personal life

Abayomi is married to Mrs Ibironke Adeyeri, a businesswoman. The couple have two sons. Abayomi is a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International[9] and was recently named a United Nations Eminent Peace Ambassador.
