Overview

edit

"Join along with a little pony as she opens her eyes for the very first time and experiences her first day in the world! She drinks her mother's milk, learns to walk, meets a new friend, lies down to go to sleep and get ready for another day and more adventures to come."[1]

The book only being a mere twenty pages, captivates the story of a little pony who is just born on a farm. It details her experiences of her first day in her life, these including, nursing, trotting around, and meeting a person.

Development

edit

"Vivian Laughman has always loved to read, write and be around ponies! She is a graduate of Centenary College with a degree in equine studies, a manager of a pony breeding farm, and a loving wife and mother! When not at the farm working with young ponies, she enjoys spending her time with her husband, daughter, and their two pugs, Piper and Pixi."[1] Laughman had worked with horses her entire life and had built a reputation in the equestrian community. In 2015, she had shifted from being a riding instructor full time, to working in a barn as a caretaker. She continues to do so and in early 2022, became a mother. She often read books to her daughter which gave her the inspiration for wanting to write her own. The visualization she had used to depict the ponies in her book came from two real ponies at the barn she works in.
