Dorairaj Prabhakaran is a scientist, cardiologist, author, researcher and currently director of the Centre for Chronic Disease Control (CCDC).[1][2][3][4][5]

Stanford University listed Prabhakaran amongst the top 2% scientists in the world.[6] Scopus and Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, listed him as the topmost researcher in Medicine in India terms of publications for the years 2009–2014.[7] Prabhakaran has also been elected President-Elect of the World Heart Federation (WHF) Board 2025-2026.[8]
He is a professor at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), and Emory University, Atlanta, USA.[9][10][11] He is also a visiting Scientist at the Harvard School of Public Health and an International Fellow at the Population Research Institute, McMaster University. He is also a distinguished professor at Public Health Foundation of India.[12]
