Constantia Flexibles is a manufacturer of flexible packaging headquartered in Vienna, Austria. Constantia Flexibles employs around 7,150 people,[1] at approximately 28 production sites in 15 countries,[2] predominantly in Europe, North America, Africa and Asia. The group supplies its products to numerous multinational corporations and local market leaders in the food, pet food, pharmaceuticals and beverage industries.

The company has a history and experience of over 110 years in the packaging business. By offering (recyclable) film, aluminum and paper options, Constantia Flexibles provides packaging for products, like lids, capsules, beverages, dairy, and pharma products.

The group is an international flexible packaging producer, active globally in two main divisions: Consumer & Pharma. The majority of its sales are made in Europe (66%), America (18%), and the Asia-Pacific region (9%). The sales split between the divisions is 76% for Consumer & 24% for the Pharma market.
Constantia Flexibles had, until 2023, three main shareholders: WENDEL Group (61%), Arepo Foundation (27%) and Maxburg Capital Partners (11%). In July 2023, the company announced its sale to a new owner, One Rock Capital Partners,[3] based in New York City, United States of America. The closing[4] was completed on January 4, 2024. The management at Constantia Flexibles comprises the management board and the executive committee. The management board includes Chief Executive Officer Pim Vervaat and Chief Financial Officer Richard Kelsey.[5] The executive board has six additional members.
Constantia Flexibles has established itself as a packaging provider in Europe through a consistent and ongoing growth and acquisition strategy. Since 2022, the company has expanded its European flexo printing platform through the international acquisitions of Propak in Turkey, FFP Packaging Solutions in Great Britain, Drukpol in Poland, and Lászlópack in Hungary. Constantia Flexibles is also part of the joint venture SB-Constantia for its Indian business with Premji Invest and SB Packagings.

The company manufactures flexible packaging out of plastic, aluminum, and paper. These are used on their own (mono-structure) or in combination (multi-layer), in direct and indirect primary & secondary packaging for food and non-food products, in retail, in industrial applications as well as in the health sector.
Constantia Flexibles has two main divisions: Consumer & Pharma.
The consumer division offers flexible packaging for beverages, confectionery, dairy products, home & personal care, meat & fish, pet care, processed foods and snacks, and is responsible for 76% of Constantia Flexibles’ sales.
Constantia Flexibles offers different technologies for consumer products, such as Alu Technology, Easy Open & Reclose, Film Technology, High-End Graphics, Paper Technology, Performance Packaging and Product Safety.
Companies such as Unilever, Nestlé, Mondelez and L’Oréal, already chose the consumer packaging of Constantia Flexibles.
The pharma division makes about 24% of sales and produces packagings for the health sector, such as blisters, coldforms, containers, flow wraps, sachets, pouches, stick & strip packs and trays, offering packaging for capsules, gels, granulates, liquids, powders and much more.
Many of the products are available with different additional features, such as anti-counterfeiting features, child-resistant features or desiccant features. Depending on the packaging needs, Constantia Flexibles offers different materials, such as aluminium foil, aluminium, Polypropylene (PP) and Polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
Pharma companies, such as Bayer, Novartis, Merck Group, AstraZeneca, already packaged their pharma goods with Constantia Flexible's packaging.
In 2018, the company introduced its more sustainable packaging line, Ecolutions.[6]

Constantia Flexibles is a group of companies whose roots are from Constantia Teich, founded in 1912 in Weinburg, Austria and the packaging producer Haendler & Natermann, founded in 1825 in Hann, Münden, Germany.
In 1912 the brothers Richard and Ernest Teich founded the company TEICH OHG and started with four employees with the rolling of tin and lead foils. In 1952 Flexo printing was included in the production program, and thus the first step in the success story of higher refinement (foil processing) has been taken. In 1969 the Austrian entrepreneur Herbert Turnauer founded Constantia Industrieverwaltungsgesellschaft m.b.H. with the task to carry out the management of investments in various industrial companies in the Turnauer group. 1970 Herbert Turnauer acquired Teich AG as the main shareholder.
By purchasing new punches in 1985, the production of cup closures was increased by more than half. Just a few years later, the Teich Group took the position of the global market leader in this sector. In 1999 Constantia Flexibles entered the market of UV flexo printing. Due to the commissioning of Constantia Flexibles at that time new co-extrusion coating system in 2002, a further expansion of the technological diversity was made possible.
In 2004 the foundation stone for Constantia Flexibles was laid through the formal merger of the Teich Group and the Haendler & Natermann Group. Two years later, in 2006, the umbrella brand with the logo still valid today, was introduced. In 2010, a second rolling mill was put into production. Since 2012, the headquarters of Constantia Flexibles are located in Vienna, Austria.
In October 2015, Constantia Flexibles opened its Competence Center for Research and Development[7] of polymer films and film laminates for flexible packaging. The center is located at the company's second-largest production plant in Weiden, Germany.
Since 2017, Constantia Flexibles has been awarded with the EcoVadis Gold medal[8] for its CSR achievements. The company committed to setting greenhouse gas emission reduction targets[9] in line with the Science Based Target Initiative in 2017. A year later,[10] the company announced to reduce absolute Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions 24% by 2030 and 49% by 2050 from a 2015 base-year.
In 2020, and 2022, Constantia Flexibles has been awarded for leadership[11] in corporate sustainability by global environmental non-profit CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), securing a spot on its ‘A List’.
Besides its focus on sustainability, Constantia Flexibles also invests in its facilities. In October 2022,[12] the company announced to invest 80 million EUR in its Teich plant in Lower Austria. Part of the project is a new rolling mill for the production of aluminum packaging, also focusing here on low carbon aluminum.
On January 4, 2024, One Rock Capital Partners announced that it has completed the purchase of Constantia Flexibles.[13]
