Naming the category edit

This should be renamed to American Jewish History. It is offensive to call Jews Jewish Americans and not American Jews.

Enough with this politically correct nonsense.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Kahanechaivekayam (talkcontribs) [1]

  • Firstly, why are these comments not signed with the four tildes ~~~~ ? Secondly, this category is part of a series that deal with JEWISH history, so it is logical that the category be named "Jewish American history" as are all the others, such as "Jewish Canadian history", "Jewish South African history" etc. See the full list at Category:Jewish history. Thank you. IZAK 04:33, 23 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Circular hierarchy edit

This category is both a parent and a child of Category:Jewish Americans. It shouldn't be both. It seems to me that "Jewish Americans" are part of "Jewish American history", so my thinking is that this should be the parent, and "Jewish Americans" should be the child. People edit

The majority of this category is just people who should be placed in the Jewish-American category, but they do not also need to be placed in this category. Unless they aren't Jewish, but were apart of Jewish history, they should be placed in this category. If a person is Jewish, they should only be placed in Jewish-American category and not also Jewish American history category. 75.3.4.54 06:24, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

I agree and am working on moving bio articles here to the 'Jewish American' category unless the name is already in one of its subcategories, in which case I am just deleting this category from the article. It is tedious, you know. This will make this category consistent with the other 'F00 American history categories' Thanks Hmains 23:45, 29 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
