This category exists because I'm not comfortable putting Central American and Carribean percussion into Category:North American percussion instruments, despite the fact that they're currently in Category:North American musical instruments and/or its subcategories.

These traditions have far more in common with the South American traditions than with the North American ones, so far as percussion is concerned at least.
