This category is for poets writing some or all of their verse in Lallans (Eng: lowlands), an alternative name for the Scots language used by Robert Burns in Address to the Deil in 1786. Lallans Poets was also used to describe the early 20th century Scottish Renaissance poets who followed Hugh MacDiarmid writing in Synthetic Scots known as Lallans. What this category refers to exactly is unclear.
