Taxonomy edit

Previously this genus was placed within the Orthalicidae.[4]

Bostryx sensu stricto is the type genus of the subfamily Bostrycinae,[3] but some species of Bostryx sensu lato are placed within Bulimulinae.[3] There is need further research to elucidate which subgenera belong to which subfamily.[3]

Distribution edit

There are 29 species from the genus Bostryx in Chile[5] and numerous species in other countries.

Ecology edit

They live under stones and on cacti.[5]

Bostryx feeds on lichens.[5]

Species edit

Species in the genus Bostryx include:
