Amphisbaena steindachneri is a species of worm lizard in the family Amphisbaenidae. The species is endemic to South America.

Etymology edit

The specific name, steindachneri, is in honor of Austrian herpetologist Franz Steindachner.[3]

Geographic range edit

A. steindachneri is found in Bolivia, Brazil, and Paraguay.[2]

Habitat edit

The preferred natural habitat of A. steindachneri is savanna.[1]

Reproduction edit

A. steindachneri is oviparous.[2]
