NotesEdit

  • This race was run in an anti-clockwise direction, as opposed to clockwise the year before, and all subsequent races.
  • Ascari and Villoresi were not present due to the Lancia car not being ready.
  • Bayol scores his first career points.
  • Records tied or broken: Farina gets his 17th podium finish (this ties Ascari), and his 22nd race to score points (this gives him sole possession of the record).
  • First Race: Maserati 250F.
  • Farina scored the pole position at an age of 47 years and 79 days, which still is a record today.
