The Pirates of Dark Water

May I turn your attention to the article on The Pirates of Dark Water? I while ago another Wikipedian and I were in a pretty bad edit conflict. I let it rest since then and stumbled upon it just now, finding it is still, in my personal opinion, in a bad shape. Can anyone here please look at it? Thanks! Ralph Bakshi

Hi there. Ralph Bakshi is a current featured article candidate, but I'm not exactly 100% clear on some of the references. Could someone check the page numbers for Leonard Maltin's book Of Mice and Magic: A History of American Animated Cartoons? I don't have a copy, and I can't find it on Google Books. Coordinators' working group

Hi! I'd like to draw your attention to the new WikiProject coordinators' working group, an effort to bring both official and unofficial WikiProject coordinators together so that the projects can more easily develop consensus and collaborate. This group has been created after discussion regarding possible changes to the A-Class review system, and that may be one of the first things discussed by interested coordinators.

All designated project coordinators are invited to join this working group. If your project hasn't formally designated any editors as coordinators, but you are someone who regularly deals with coordination tasks in the project, please feel free to join as well. — Delievered by §hepBot (Disable) on behalf of the WikiProject coordinators' working group at 04:45, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.

If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.

Message sent by User:Addbot to all active wiki projects per request, Comments on the message and bot are welcome here.

South Park Featured topic drive

WikiProject South Park participants have started a page at WP:SOUTHPARK/TOPIC to organize featured topic drive collaborations. The primary goal is to improve the quality of articles about South Park episodes, with the ultimate end goal of getting sets of episodes by season to Good Topic or even Featured Topic status. We are starting off by focusing on Season 1, to get it to Good Topic status, see Wikipedia:WikiProject South Park/Featured topic Drive/season 1. GA Sweeps invitation

This message is being sent to WikiProjects with GAs under their scope. Since August 2007, WikiProject Good Articles has been participating in GA sweeps. The process helps to ensure that articles that have passed a nomination before that date meet the GA criteria. After nearly two years, the running total has just passed the 50% mark. In order to expediate the reviewing, several changes have been made to the process. A new worklist has been created, detailing which articles are left to review. Instead of reviewing by topic, editors can consider picking and choosing whichever articles they are interested in.

We are always looking for new members to assist with reviewing the remaining articles, and since this project has GAs under its scope, it would be beneficial if any of its members could review a few articles (perhaps your project's articles). Your project's members are likely to be more knowledgeable about your topic GAs then an outside reviewer. As a result, reviewing your project's articles would improve the quality of the review in ensuring that the article meets your project's concerns on sourcing, content, and guidelines. However, members can also review any other article in the worklist to ensure it meets the GA criteria.

If any members are interested, please visit the GA sweeps page for further details and instructions in initiating a review. If you'd like to join the process, please add your name to the running total page. In addition, for every member that reviews 100 articles from the worklist or has a significant impact on the process, s/he will get an award when they reach that threshold. With ~1,300 articles left to review, we would appreciate any editors that could contribute in helping to uphold the quality of GAs. If you have any questions about the process, reviewing, or need help with a particular article, please contact me or OhanaUnited and we'll be happy to help. --Happy editing! Alleged age of a character

There's a discussion going on here about the age of Bobby Hill from King of the Hill. One line of thinking says that he ages on the same time line as the "read world" which would say that he's 23 even though he's still in middle school. The other line of thinking says that time moves more slowly in the King of the Hill world and he's ~14 (because he had his 14th birthday in a recent episode). Please come add your opinion. Masters of the Universe needs a major over haul

I feel that the whole Masters of the Universe articles need redoing for an example I asked earlier if Mattycollector.com was a legitimate resource for references but if it is not considered legitimate maybe it should be removed as it being used on the main article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masters_of_the_Universe#Masters_of_the_Universe_Classics_2008-. Also the other problem I have is I feel there are too many article relating to Masters of the Universe with no verification of its information and lots of original research the other articles like Keldor have dead articles from He-man.org and my final point I feel Masters of the Universe should have a wikiproject like GI Joe WikiProject G.I. Joe its just as important as GI Joe or should it be moved to WikiProject Media franchises. I forgot I feel some character articles should deleted for lack of information and lack verification of importance such as Optikk and Karatti and a few others.

Angus Oblong

Hello. I just reorganised and supplied references for Angus Oblong of The Oblongs. The reason I mention this here is that the article's history suggests that there have been various edit wars about his life. Even his talk page was vandalised by anons who would remove comments from other anons as well as registered editors. A review of the sources I introduce make it sound like he values his privacy, so I'd like members of your wikiproject to (1) review my recent edits to see if I've violated his rights to privacy, and (2) keep an eye on the article for any future vandalism. Animation articles have been selected for the Wikipedia 0.8 release

Version 0.8 is a collection of Wikipedia articles selected by the Wikipedia 1.0 team for offline release on USB key, DVD and mobile phone. Articles were selected based on their assessed importance and quality, then article versions (revisionIDs) were chosen for trustworthiness (freedom from vandalism) using an adaptation of the WikiTrust algorithm.

We would like to ask you to review the Animation articles and revisionIDs we have chosen. Selected articles are marked with a diamond symbol (♦) to the right of each article, and this symbol links to the selected version of each article. If you believe we have included or excluded articles inappropriately, please contact us at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8 with the details. You may wish to look at your WikiProject's articles with cleanup tags and try to improve any that need work; if you do, please give us the new revisionID at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8. We would like to complete this consultation period by midnight UTC on Monday, October 11th.

We have greatly streamlined the process since the Version 0.7 release, so we aim to have the collection ready for distribution by the end of October, 2010. As a result, we are planning to distribute the collection much more widely, while continuing to work with groups such as One Laptop per Child and Wikipedia for Schools to extend the reach of Wikipedia worldwide. Please help us, with your WikiProject's feedback!

Proposed deletion of A Little Soap and Water

The article A Little Soap and Water has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A search for references found a few minor mentions, fails WP:V and WP:N

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

I'd like to invite members of this community to weigh in on a discussion at American Dad! that has to do with WP:WAF standards. Another editor and myself have been conflicting over how to present fictional "state of being". The particular issue is over a character that has transitioned from "boyfriend" to "husband" int he series history. You can see an example of the history of the edit here: [1] and the RfC on the talk page. Thanks!Luminum (talk) 16:29, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

Evolution of Bugs Bunny

Is this article even worth keeping? I've noticed that the sections are mostly plot summaries from the shorts that the character appeared in. The section regarding Hare-um Scare-um had a lot of trivia regarding the short and very little on the rabbit, which I pruned. Then you've got unreliable sources from fan blogs. Still, when you adjust the sources and remove the useless plot summaries, it may very well be a mere stub that would suit better on the main article. Also this was nominated for deletion back when it was titled Bugs' Bunny three years ago. Sarujo (talk) 03:04, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

I agree, fan sites and fan blogs are unreliable sources. I think most of the article has no sources, the Evolution of Bugs Bunny, may likely be merged with Bugs Bunny. JJ98 (Talk) 07:43, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

IP addresses adding dubious information to Disney articles

This thread at administrator's noticeboard about action contemplated against IP addresses adding (very) dubious information to Disney related articles, may be relevant to some people here. (I don't know if all or even any of the material relates to animation specifically, but some of the articles mentioned seem to be of people involved in animation productions). --Demiurge1000 (talk) 03:59, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

I don't know, this first IP has been blocked, and the second one has not been blocked yet. I suspect that it may be vandalism. I think or I don't think its may be a sockpuppet of Bambifan101 (talk · contribs). JJ98 (Talk) 04:40, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
I removed most of the "facts" added by 78.155.239.29 - for example, this person was adding credits for Virgil Ross and Milt Franklyn to a ton of Disney stuff, when neither ever worked at Disney to my knowledge. However, this person has been making new edits as recently as yesterday, so he needs to be kept on close watch. (Also, I don't think 78.155.239.29 is a Bambifan101 sock.)--TServo2050 (talk) 16:46, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
I agree, this IP, 78.155.239.29 (talk · contribs) is registered to Letterkenny, Ireland. There also some reverts, due to vandalism. JJ98 (Talk) 20:55, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
I left a note at WikiProject Disney for any concerns. JJ98 (Talk) 21:15, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
78.155.239.29 is at it again - he added a bunch of fake credits to the Wikipedia listing for The Fox and the Hound. On IMDB, I had to delete many of these same names of people who didn't work on the film. Compare the credits on its IMDB page, from which I removed all the fake entries, to the credits that are up on the film's Wiki page now. There are DOZENS of names of people who had no involvement in the film. These edits need to be reverted, and seeing as this person even now continues to add false information, I believe the admins should take measures against him.--TServo2050 (talk) 19:59, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
I agree, this needs to stop, there has been too much vandalism in Disney articles. As noted, this IP address and two sockpuppets has been blocked by MuZemike (talk · contribs), and the article, The Fox and the Hound has been protected until 9 September 2011, due excessive vandalism and sock puppetry. This message has been left at WP:ANI for any concerns. JJ98 (Talk) 01:07, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

Someone might want to have a look at the list of Happy Tree Friends characters. It has recently been edited by 86.7.69.218, an IP that vandalised other articles during the same time period. Niki Yang article replacement proposal

After days of dig-up, I managed to create this piece of work with sources. Can anyone review the things below in broader aspects including fact, content, style, etc.? JSH-alive talkcontmail 05:17, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

OK. Since that WP:BLPPROD-tagged version was deleted, I moved entire thing to Niki Yang article. Please discuss further at Talk:Niki Yang. JSH-alive talkcontmail 02:54, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

I would consult to ask questions ate WP:BLPN and WikiProject Biography for any animators, thank you. JJ98 (Talk / Contributions) 03:10, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Detagging?

Hello. DodoBot recently finished tagging all the articles in this category list, as requested. However, as pointed out on editor assisstance, it appears there was a bit of a problem with the tagging of Category:Transformers characters, Category:Transformers (franchise), Category:Transformers series and Category:Transformers stubs since some of those articles were not within the project's scope (they are related to the transformers toys or the transformers comic books). How would you prefer to go about untagging these articles? If you wish, I can have the bot untag all the articles in those categories. Or, if you prefer, you can manually go through the articles in those categories (there's a total of about 150 pages), and untag only the articles which are unrelated to animation. Let me know what you decide. - EdoDodo talk 08:24, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

Thank four notice EdoDodo. Most the Transformers anime series articles are already cover by WP:WPTF and WP:ANIME. Most of the Anime and manga articles should not be tagged by WP:ANIMATION. I thank most of the Transformers articles should be tagged by WP:WPTF, not WP:ANIMATION since it has Transformers live action and anime series and films. If any problems, please contact at WP:ANIME, WP:WPTF or my talk page for any more questions or problems. Thank for your time. Regards, JJ98 (Talk / Contributions) 08:30, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
Okay, so what would you like me to do with the Transformers articles? Remove the WP:ANIMATION tag from all of them? - EdoDodo talk 08:52, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
Well, I've removed some of it, expect The Transformers animated series and the rest of the Transformers characters which is I like within the scope of project like Optimus Prime which already covers it. Usually, I'll remove some of the banners myself. Thank you. JJ98 (Talk / Contributions) 09:13, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

Jeff Hall (animator)

Could someone familiar with this topic please expand this article to include mention of at least why this person is notable? -- œ 03:38, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

The Yankee Doodle Mouse

Lost sequence selection, gets attacked and removed alot by deletionist, I have pointed both to similarites on Jerry Beck's page, and to original copyright info, + these same info can befound on BCDB.com since that info about the lost sequence is on bcdb.com it should be enought to fight them off so please help me fight of deletionist if they make attments to remove the selection again. Thank you. DoctorHver (talk) 18:47, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

The throubling user is(User:MikeWazowski) (talk), he thinks BCDB fails notablitly which accoring to WikiProjectAnimation front page does not. DoctorHver (talk) 19:10, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

Oh my, "attacked"? "Deletionist"? As I have pointed out in the past, what you are trying to add is nothing but the textbook definition of original research. Of the sources you quoted, the Google books link has one line, but no corroborating evidence. The BigCartoonDatabase (which is only listed here as "useful", not a "verified source", as you tried to claim) is like the IMDB, fine for an external link, but as it's user-submitted data, it fails WP:RS - as do the links you added from goldenagecartoons.com (a forum), and the jpg from thadkomorowski's blog. The cartoonresearch.com MGM article doesn't even mention this cartoon. Now, as for the thadkomorowski image - it shows a script page which mentions the text you claim to be "lost", but scripts often differ from final versions - you have no reliable sources that this was the final script. You have no evidence that this was ever animated or inserted (and then removed) from the cartoon. The entire section is supposition, and without reliable sourcing, it WILL be removed from the article. Find legitimate reliable sources that back up the specific claims you're making, and then we'll talk. But for now? It's got to go. MikeWazowski (talk) 19:34, 10 July 2011 (UTC)
Please be civil both of you, you need to provide reliable sources per WP:RS and WP:V. I would consult to ask questions at WP:FILM, thank you. JJ98 (Talk / Contributions) 20:45, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

The Tale of Despereaux (film)

Hello ! I read this article and found this sentence : “Chomet came up against creative and ethical differences with the producers and was found to be using budget intended for Despereaux to fund his own traditional animation film The Illusionist,[2] which was being developed simultaneously on another floor of the same studio, and was eventually fired from the project and thrown out of the studio space allocated to Despereaux.[3]” Quite shocked by the affair, I checked the sources (mainly an article in the New York Times, used as reference [3]), and... found nothing at all about money being misappropriated. The controversy was about credits (not) being made to Chomet for his work. There is something weird there. Could someone check for sources and, if nothing of the sort is found, remove the accusation of misappropriation of funds, which is quite serious ? Thanks in advance (and sorry for anything that would seem weird : I usually work on the French Wikipedia). --Eunostos (talk) 21:24, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

Well, I would consult to ask questions at WP:FILM, thank you. JJ98 (Talk / Contributions) 21:27, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
But... Despereaux is an animated film. Doesn't it fall under the scope of the project Animation ? Anyway, sorry if I asked in the wrong place and thanks for the info. --Eunostos (talk) 10:54, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
Well, that's okay, Despereaux is a computer animated film by Universal Pictures. It is also both fall under WP:ANIMATION and WP:FILM. Usually, I'll find better sources myself, thank you. JJ98 (Talk / Contributions) 11:12, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

Link to the model VW Bug?

Hi, I'm looking a link to the 1972 3D model VW Bug created by Ivan Sutherland. I need it for the page List of common 3D test models and I thought that somebody here might know where to find it. If you know of other models that you think should be in the list, feel free to add them to! I am also looking for images to the models Dragon, Armadillo and Happy Buddha. There is also an image of a 3D test scene in the gallery on the page (it's also in the article global illumination) which I don't know the name of, where it's from or where it can be found. It would be good if someone here could help me find that out to. —Kri (talk) 23:09, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

Well, there is a red link on the cite ref 1, which is not created yet along with the VW Bug. I doubt it would meet the notably, but I would consult to ask questions at WP:COMPUTING, thank you. JJ98 (Talk / Contributions) 11:17, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
So, now I've asked the question at WP:COMPUTING too. —Kri (talk) 17:16, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

Errors in List of The Smurfs episodes

There are some errors in the list. In Season 2:

  • "The Blue Plague" is a 20 minute story, but listet as part of a "episode with 2 10 minute stories".
  • "Revenge of the Smurfs", "One Good Smurf Deserves Another" and "Clumsy Smurfs the Future" are 10 minute stories, but listet as "episode with 1 20-minute story".

So there are only 35 episodes in this season. Maybe other seasons have errors too. Can someone correct the list ? --87.152.241.201 (talk) 15:35, 28 July 2011 (UTC)

Well, good question, depends on the correct order. JJ98 (Talk / Contributions) 01:49, 5 August 2011 (UTC)

Fire and Ice (1983 film)

Just noticed that under Legacy, it mentions that Robert Rodriguez's deal with Frazetta had fallen through. However, there is this article that claims that not only is the deal still on, via Frazetta's estate, but that Rodriguez will also be remaking Heavy Metal (which relates to Bakshi). Doing This Play? Here's Some Things You Should Know....

The only girl parts are...

Princess Jasmine Narrators 1-5 (The Guards can be girls, too, you just have to change one of the song lyrics from "Sing it, boys!" to "Sing it, girls!")

I'm in this show, and I'm playing the part of Princess Jasmine. I don't get to sing much.

Narrators are the biggest parts in the show, besides Aladdin. But they do more singing than he does.

Aladdin and Jasmine are required to be romantically inclined to each other, although there is no kissing written in the script.

Input requested

Hello to the members of this project. If you are so inclined your input is requested at this thread Talk:Films with live action and animation#Define the combination. An IP has decided that a large part of the list should be removed. While there is no doubt that it could be pared down, I feel that more input is needed to determine just how much trimming should be done. As this article does not seem to be on many watchlists anymore I am hoping for more discussion than has currently taken place. Thanks ahead of time for anything that you can add to the conversation. MarnetteD | Talk 13:30, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

Marvel Animated Universe?

Ultimately, I think that this article should be removed. As far as I am aware, there has been no official confirmation of a shared continuity between these series. In fact, it has been brought to my attention that the official Marvel handbooks list them as being in separate continuities (X-Men in Earth-92131; Iron Man in Earth-569386; Fantastic Four in Earth-534834; Spider-Man in Earth-194111; Incredible Hulk in Earth-400285; Silver Surfer in Earth-634962). Also, there are no citations throughout the article that confirm that there is a shared universe (plenty that state several crossovers, but that doesn't mean anything- there are heaps of crossovers in Marvel shows) --ProfessorKilroy (talk) 09:29, 16 October 2011 (UTC)

So, the Marvel Animated Universe page has been deleted, but it still leaves traces around wikipedia, such as Template:Marvel Animated Universe, Category:Marvel animated universe, List of Marvel animated universe locations, Category:Marvel animated universe characters, and Category:Marvel animated universe episodes (I would have done these as links, but the categories were being weird). If you have anything against these pages being deleted, yell out now. But anyway, if you see the words "Marvel Animated Universe" around the place, be sure to get rid of it. Thanks. --ProfessorKilroy (talk) 23:13, 25 October 2011 (UTC)

B-Class checklist

Greeting, I am a coordinator for WP:ANIMATION myself. A B-Class checklist will be added to the project banner, along with the work group text, including the importance function. The B-Class checklist will include 6 point parameters to assess against the criteria. If you have any questions, please discuss here. Thank for your time. JJ98 (Talk / Contributions) 20:46, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

"A B-Class checklist will be added to the project banner"? But this doesn't exist already? Inox talk 00:41, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
We had that on our project banner before it was removed back in October. The WPBannerMeta has a B-Class checklist hook so articles need to be assessed to be classified as B-Class, like WikiProject Anime and manga, WikiProject Aviation, WikiProject Apple Inc., WikiProject Comics, WikiProject Film and WikiProject Military History project banners. This can be downgraded to C-Class if the checklist is added to the banner. If you want that or not, I'll just go head for it. JJ98 (Talk / Contributions) 01:25, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
Obviously I want it back on our project banner. But you don't need to get irritated, it was just a question. Inox talk 03:04, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
No reservations about the proposed changes. John Carter (talk) 19:33, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
I think it is uncontroversial, but the admins here doesn't realized this. As I said here, if you want me to take care of that, be my guest. I don't care or one way the other and I doubt that anybody else will, but will make the project look more attractive. John Carter, I do appreciate your caring, and Inox, I know you're still working on the Cartoon Network work group, but I don't really care for Cartoon Network myself anymore. As much else, there usually lot of things carried by one person. :) JJ98 (Talk / Contributions) 20:54, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
Okay, I've given a fair idea for the banner. All that is need that is for an administrator to add the appropriate discussion and add the work group text, along with the B-Class checklist and new parameters. I will begin assessing the checklist myself once its added to the banner. JJ98 (Talk / Contributions) 18:39, 8 November 2011 (UTC)

Caillou

In the article about Caillou, I believe the writer got some of the information wrong. Maybe I haven't seen all the episodes so I could be wrong but, I have never seen Caillou "throw huge fits". As a matter of fact, I love Caillou because he's sweet and doesn't throw fits or act bratty. Just thought I'd mention that- for Caillou's sake. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bonant (talkcontribs) 03:11, 14 November 2011 (UTC)

Toonzone schedules, and sources for airdates and production code sin general

Hey all, Firstly i want to see what other opinions and views on toonzone schedules as being used as a reliable source, i know that some parts of toonzone can not be used as it unreliable for instance the forum. but the schedules themselves they get form the broadcasters like disney etc, nd it isa editor for the site that inputs them after verifying there no errors in the data, no users can input data so from what i can tell it would be reliable but i would like other opinions.

secondly has anyone know of a any sites that can be reliable be used for the original airdates or production codes in general as there doesn't appear to be any that can be used,--Andrewcrawford (talk - contrib) 19:15, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

Well, I don't know about the airdates, ToonZone.net is not a reliable source. See Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard/Archive 56#Toon Zone and Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard/Archive 93#Toonzone.net again. JJ98 (Talk / Contributions) 01:12, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

Some of the parts of the sites liek the hsoted sites and the forums are not disputed that ther enot realible but toonzone is made up of differente parts the news section is oen that hasnt got a clear answer if it realible or not, the schedules sction has been citied as realible in one of the other project and funnily enough one of the users who posted it unrealible for the news cited it as realible for the airdates and post codes due how the information is enter and where it is source from ie the broadcaster. (i am not dipusting it unreallible for probally the news that have to be verified probally, but it the schedule section i want scurtinised as it does meet realible sources guidelines but the problem is other parts of the site doesnt--Andrewcrawford (talk - contrib) 16:28, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
