Disney film plot summeries

Thank you for working on the plot summeries. I am going to look through the history of Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas and will try to find a shorter version of the plot (and one without the uncited stuff in it too). Feel free to cheak out my contribs to other Disney pages and edit them to! Also, the tone in Barney's Great Adventure may be off, so feel free to fix the tone. Thanks! Can you edit ones such as Oliver & Company and Home on the Range (film)? OK, I don't really like Home on the Range, but I had saw it and I couldn't agree with you more when you said it was ridiculous how long it was, seeing as it's so simple (the plot). Also, the ending isn't finnished and I think it has plenty of typos.

Oliver however is awesome, and the lede sentence "and again on March 7, 2009" is incorrect, as it was listing the re-releases in theatres and not on home video, plus the release was Febuary 7. Also, I don't think that saying Oliver is cute is NPOV. In fact, I'd recommend just removing the character section altogether.

No, I don't think I will spend much time rewriting dozens of plot summaries, although I may look at those you mentioned. The reason why the Home on the Range synopsis was so ridiculous was that there was a tag asking to EXPAND it.LaukkuTheGreit (talk) 17:41, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I saw that, however, the reason the expand tag was added was because back in March, the part about the plot in the lede was actually originally the entire plot section of the article until someone added that to the lede and asked for the section to be expanded. Then the section was written as it is now in June, with the user acidently messing up the image. So the image was fixed but not the plot tag. Also I think they might have asked to expand it because it doesn't have the full ending. I'd like though to have the Cinderella III plot I posted here done to Cinderella III: A Twist in Time, as I still can't edit a semi-protected page. Otherwise, I'd just fix all of these plots. I'm so glad you did Oliver & Company because that one is one of my favorites. Now, I found this at [1] for Robin Hood (1973 film):

The story begins as Robin Hood and Little John run from the Sheriff of Nottingham, who has ambushed them with a team of archers. After narrowly escaping, Robin Hood and Little John happen upon the royal entourage which is taking Prince John and his counselor, Sir Hiss, to Nottingham in order to tax the people there. Disguised as female fortune-tellers, Robin and Little John effectively steal all the gold they can carry and run off into the forest, leaving Prince John sucking his thumb in humiliation. In Nottingham, Robin uses Friar Tuck to smuggle the stolen gold back to the peasants. Later Robin sees Maid Marian, she and Robin had once been sweethearts as children, but were forced to part ways when she moved to London. But she is mistaken: Robin can't stop thinking about her. But since Robin is an outlaw he and Marian wait for marriage. Seething with rage, that Robin is winning, John triples the taxes, making the bleak situation in Nottingham even worse. One night, Robin Hood, disguised again as the beggar, learns that Friar Tuck is in jail and will rescue him, save Nottingham once and for all and give Prince John the justice that has been coming to him for a long time.

I'm sure it needs some expanding, but I'm sure it's a shortened version of Wikipedia's own summery (which is probably just the first half so that they won't spoil it for others). I reverted your revert. I'm not trying to hurt the film. I understand that opinions about the animation vary with source. I personally have nothing against the film and ultimately feel for the creator whose work was ultimately destroyed. The article is going to receive increased traffic soon do to a review that will be out this week. I wanted to make sure that it is up to wiki specs beforehand - particularly wp:NPOV. One-Eye was a Throne

In the original film, the slave women threw One-Eye off a cliff, whilst in the Recobbled Cut, the storyboard of which hadn't made it to the final cut, shows One-eye being sat on by the slave woman, hencing the words the slave woman were saying is actually 'Throne' not 'Throw', like in the original.--Talk 20:33 1 February 2011 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.136.138.122 (talk)

Hi, I give you some suggestions related with bot which could potentially search topics with: "estimated vitality". Generally it seems to me that your idea with bot of "estimated vitality" is interesing and maybe could evoluate in future if we test it in various ways.

When we make metric based on number of Interwiki.... Better option will be search number of language versions which has more than five pageviews per day than excatly Interwiki number. For example Polandball has 104 language versions but normally ([2]) has fewer versions than Hetalia:Alexis Powers ( [3]). Only ~~10 language versions with +5 pageviews per day. There are quite a lot of cross-wiki spams on Wikipdia such like Corbin Bleu etc.

When we make "age weight" for hitorical topics we also could make metric "how long the article exist". For example Kylie Jenner (1997) can has better weight due to article exist since 2009 while Marcus Rashford (1997) exist since 2015 (in English Wikipedia and other language versions). Justin Bieber is younger than Mohammed Salah and Elizabeth Holmes but he has article since 2008, while Salah since 2012 and Holmes since 2014.

Very a lot of articles has many "what links here" due to templates. But it would be interesing comparing links which are not due to templates. Dawid2009 (talk) 20:07, 12 October 2018 (UTC)

@31NOVA:: Hmm, I haven't taken much interest in them beyond YU-NO and doing simple updates on Doukyuusei (since no one else bothered to). I apologize for all the destructive changes caused to the page, as I am a new user with no experience in Wikipedia, nor did I have clear criteria on what titles should or should not be on the list, popular or unpopular, of mild or mature content, English-spoken or non-English... I didn't intend to make changes to the page that reflected my personal view, a disruptive action or one that could be considered unpopular, thus my purpose is to enhance the list (as you can see in the View History I added some valid titles too and some minor changes before my other mistakes).I will ensure subsequent edits are focused in adding relevant information and not changes that may conflict with both other users contributions and popular consensus. Last changes I wrongfully deleted from the list have been undid by Grueslayer, so I hope I can contribute as much as I can to this Wikipedia page without deleting any valuable content unnecessarily.

Vitals Video Games Target Counts

Hello, thanks so much for your edit in the Vitals-5 Sports, games, and recreation's video games section! I just wanted to let you know, I changed the target count of video games back to 100, which I had decided I was going to do anyway because I came up with some card games and felt if we have 5 Legend of Zelda articles we are okay even though I love The Legend of Zelda. So I thought it was cool when I saw you'd made it 100 anyway haha. I also love Civilization and decided your bold edit of taking Civ1 out is fine as well since we have the series so I'll assume your edits for the other video games are sensible as well even though I haven't played them. Thank you for your sentiment. These can always be debated however. I'd myself prefer breadth over depth in this case, and perhaps the only video game sub-entries I'd retain would be Final Fantasy VII, GTA III, the currently listed Mario games and a single article for Pokémon games (and I'm saying this as a Monkey Island fan). The space hogged by subentries could be reallocated to other games I'm thinking may deserve inclusion, such as Fate/Stay Night (there are no individual visual novels represented as of now), Ace Attorney, Adventure (1980 video game), Prince of Persia, Lemmings...--LaukkuTheGreit (Talk•Contribs) 21:18, 30 December 2022 (UTC)

Comment on List of Graphic Adventures

Thank you for your last edit in the article, and above all for all your contributions in the last year! I may have some mistakes here and there yet I only wish to better the page as much as I can given that there is so much work to do with the large amount of titles / info absent from its lists. I hope we can continue to keep on expanding it as only a few users tend to give it proper attention.

Bottom 10% VA5/Society and social sciences articles by pageviews

Hi! Are you starting a discussion on "Society and social sciences bottom 10% articles by pageviews", like you did with Technology and Arts? I'm interested working on quota enforcement on the Language section especially. It currently has a lot of articles with low pageviews, that I mass-added there years ago. Thought I'd like to clean after myself, and I'm asking to see what your plans are so we won't be doing overlapping work. --Makkool (talk) 16:10, 17 January 2024 (UTC)

@Makkool: Currently, I have no real plans to make more bottom lists. I can however document my personal steps to get a clean list from CSV files downloadable from the Massviews tool. This may lack some details, but more or less, from memory what I did was:

• I put a VA5 page URL into the Massviews tool (with the Wikilinks option and a decently large timeframe selected)
• After the processing was finished, I downloaded and opened the CSV file in Notepad++ where I auto-replaced (Ctrl+H) double quotes with commas (after having first replaced pre-existing double quotes in article names and commas into something unused, checked by Ctrl+F:ing through the VA5 page) in preparation for next steps
• I used [4] to remove everything after the second comma (the CSV includes a lot of numeric data unnecessary for a simple list)
• I used Notepad++ to remove remaining commas and return commas and double quotes in article names from the temp characters
• I used [5] to remove everything in non-mainspace (if none of the articles have ":" in them, just remove everything with ":")
• I used [6] to reverse the lines, so that the least-viewed item is at the top
• I selected and removed all lines after the first 10% (Notepad++ handily shows line numbers)
• And I used [7] to add "|" at the beginning of each line for the unbulleted list template in the final post.--LaukkuTheGreit (Talk•Contribs) 20:31, 17 January 2024 (UTC)
