Hiro-Media

Hello, My name is Yael, I work at HIRO Media and we noticed that our Wikipedia page was deleted as it was considered not notable nor neutral by editors and administrators. We would like to rewrite and edit the page so it will align with Wikipedia's guidelines. Can you please advise if the page can be restored for us to edit it? @Yaelhiro:   Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hiro-Media, it cannot be undeleted through this process. I have not had time to edit this draft since presenting an associated paper at the AAS summer conference in San Diego and it has been dormant for longer than 6 months. I have been really busy setting up a community building and astronomy program on a native reservation east of Calgary. It has been very successful but also very hectic.   • Jaobar, the page is fairly promotional, enough to where it could have qualified for G11 and would be deleted as such if it were in the mainspace. It would need a complete re-write to meet Wikipedia's WP:NPOV guidelines. An example of this can be seen as follows:
Both Lauren and John are established professionals within the music industry and live very busy and demanding lives, but recently resigning from Bell Media, Lauren can now focus her time on her hobbies and what truly inspires her: health.
The whole thing was essentially written in this tone and was also accompanied by a lot of hotlinks to the site's recipes, which at worst can be seen as promotion and at best is just WP:INDISCRIMINATE data about what they do - we rarely include individual recipes on an article about a cooking or food related person or website unless those recipes have received so much coverage that they would likely warrant their own articles. For example, you don't see a list of recipes in the article for Martha Stewart or the magazine Cooking Light. The article was also liberally sprinkled with content that can be seen as a WP:SOAPBOX for eating vegan. FWIW, I applaud people that can go vegan, as it takes a lot of willpower, but you need to be careful not to come across as promoting things on Wikipedia since in this case the article should be neutrally written and should only be about the blog itself.

  • It looks like you didn't write the original draft, a student did, but the warning about the content is still valid - it would need a pretty substantial re-write in order to meet NPOV guidelines. I wrote a bit of an essay about the differences between student papers and Wikipedia articles, as this is actually pretty common with student assignments. Dear Tokyogirl79, thank you for your comments and for your email. I have re-reviewed the article, and while I agree that there are a few sentences that violate WP:NPOV, I disagree with your overall assessment that the entire piece is so promotional that it should quality for WP:G11. I would remove, for instance, some of the uncited text about cleaning products, and perhaps modify a bit of the language about the personal lives of the individuals mentioned (though the latter reads fairly consistent with the sort of thing you see in a celebrity's personal life section). It is my understanding that the most important strategies for ensuring content isn't promotional are: 1) being descriptive in a neutral way, and 2) citing multiple sources external to the entity being written about (i.e. WP:V and WP:N). It appears to me that the majority of the article satisfies the former and the works cited certainly satisfies the latter. While this isn't the best article I've seen produced in a class, I would argue that its benefits outweigh its shortcomings and for that reason should be reinstated. I will be happy to do so myself, making a few small modifications to satisfy WP:NPOV. What do you say? I should add that I appreciate you sharing your piece about argumentative writing v. encyclopedic writing. As someone that has taught with the WMF/WikiEd Education Program since 2010, while I'm always looking to improve, I am certainly familiar with the different styles of writing. First,The page entry was hours old (And I was slaving over the content, expecting to "save" shortly). Second, if anyone had chosen to review the updated content they would have seen that I was online and stepping up. @ITCORPS: Before we continue, please explain:
Is your username an organization name? If so, go to WP:CHU/Simple and request that it be changed to something personal, that represents only you and not an organization.
Your edit summaries say you've been interviewing the family. That implies that you have an association with the family. Perhaps you are being paid to create the article? If so, you are required to disclose your conflict of interest publicly (preferably on your user page User:ITCORPS), because you agreed to abide by Wikimedia:Terms of Use when you created your account here.
Finally, main article space isn't a good place to work on drafts, precisely because unsuitable material is quickly deleted. If this article were restored, it would be in draft space, not main space. And if you have a conflict of interest, you would have to submit your draft for review through Wikipedia:Articles for creation before it can be accepted for publication in main article space.

@Anachronist: My username is that of an individual, and is within the guidelines as I understand them. I am not being paid to write an article on this man, and am a professional colleague. On WP...I, as a rule, usually come in when people contact me concerned that there is erroneous or incorrect data in their Wiki. I respectfully edit and leave. This is my first serious attempt at a page, and is based on information I received that one of the most noteworthy citizens of NC was in bad health and had always quietly dreamed of being on Wiki. Since no one else had gotten off of their butt to make the difference, I have stepped up. I completely agree on my creating drama with working in main space, and have apologized for the wasted time my blunder caused. Equally, I expect that you will agree that the quick-draw mentality in here is less than ideal. My wish for you, me and other folks who have something genuine to offer is that more energy is expended on manuals that aren't so much like a linux training manual. We should all be better enabled at utilizing this amazing tool :-) Hope that covers it for you... Not true. Let me explain: My original account was named Krimuk90. I requested for a name change when I took a long Wiki-break. When that was done, a vandal hijacked the old username (Krimuk90). Thus that account was blocked. Now, I've renamed my account as Krimuk2.0 as that original username is no longer available. C R Krishnan

One of the reasons given was that his book 'Frogs under the Wheels' was not shown as reviewed by Argos newspaper, in Brighton, East Sussex. This is not so. The first edition of this book was published by UKAuthors /BlueChrome in 2005, and this was reviewed by the Argos Newspaper by Mike Bacon. Details are on the Amazon UK page where this book is being marketed. The second edition of this book was published by Grenadier Productions and publications.
