Swim (Emily's Army EP)

Article was deleted in a mass deleting spree of a deleted accounts pages. I noticed that this notable page, that was in fact been edited by more than just him was accidently deleted. -RaisedByWolvesInReverse (talk) 03:01, 26 August 2015 (UTC)

Pinging acting admin @JamesBWatson:.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 03:22, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
It wasn't "accidently deleted". The deletion was made under speedy deletion criterion G5, "Pages created by banned or blocked users in violation of their ban or block, and which have no substantial edits by others". There were two edits by other accounts, and two by an editor not logged in to an account. Those four edits were: one edit which added a category, two one-character edits which corrected a spelling mistake, and an edit which made a few minor changes such as removing an unnecessary capital letter and removing a genre. There were indeed "no substantial edits by others". The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 09:14, 26 August 2015 (UTC)

Not done. Steven, this was hagiograpy – blatantly promotional crowing of the subject's virtue and opinion characterization. Nevertheless it still might have been undeleted for reworking (though never acceptable as written), but a more significant problem makes that impossible. It contained multiple copyright violations and plagiarism. For example, content from here, here and here.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 22:21, 28 August 2015 (UTC)

Island Heat

Today I encountered the second article nominated by the contributor who nominated this article. No one else weighed in at the AFD for Island Heat, and the nominator's second nomination triggered my concern that the nominate didn't understand that we don't nominate articles on notable topics just because we think the current state of the article falls short, I'd like to look at the article to see if it was really on a non-notable topic. Geo Swan (talk) 14:41, 29 August 2015 (UTC) -Geo Swan (talk) 14:41, 29 August 2015 (UTC)

Non-Admin Response @Geo Swan: This seems to be a common theme within your arguments for keeping any article you have had a hand in creating. Instead of questioning the motives of the nominator let's try to assume good faith, you need to convince people why your articles meets the inclusion criteria in this case 3 different people agreed on deletion, not just the nominator. At any point this is not the venue to have an AFD overturned you will need to first approach the deleting admin User:Davewild or Deletion Review.- McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 15:18, 29 August 2015 (UTC)

  • I wasn't clear, I was requesting userification. I apologize for the confusion.
  • In case anyone is confused by McMatter's personal reflections -- I have no previous history with the Island Heat article. I asked for userification of this article due to a concern that an inexperienced nominator may not have fully understood their obligations under WP:BEFORE. Discussions here should be about the pros and cons of userifying this article. Geo Swan (talk) 16:05, 29 August 2015 (UTC)

2014 Formula One season

This article was deleted at AFD in 2010, and subsequently recreated, and has since had several thousand edits. I request the pre-deletion history be grafted to the beginning of the current article. Another contributor is arguing that the 2010 deletion of this article justifies the deletion another article, 2021 World Championships in Athletics today. Others have argued that, although the 2021 event hasn't been held, notable milestones, like the choosing of Eugene Oregon as the host city, above other cities, has been made.

If the Formula One article's AFD happened before any notable milestones had been documented, then its deletion is irrelevant to the other discussion. Geo Swan (talk) 02:14, 30 August 2015 (UTC) -Geo Swan (talk) 02:14, 30 August 2015 (UTC)`

The question is, what milestones would those be, realistically? The release of the race schedule, I assume, since F1 races in different countries every year... —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 05:17, 30 August 2015 (UTC)
I wouldn't support this, as in 2010, anything about the 2014 season was just speculation, so that previously deleted page would just be useless speculation. Joseph2302 (talk) 10:14, 30 August 2015 (UTC)
@Geo Swan:   Done, though I don't think it will help. The version deleted at AfD was a one-liner: "The 2014 Formula One season will be the 65th FIA Formula One season", but earlier there was an elaborate skeleton which was PRODded, redirected to Future of Formula One, then the redirect deleted at RfD here and the target at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Future of Formula One. You would have to dig into the sources of the skeleton version to see whether there were any significant sourced milestones - the few I looked at were not specific - on the lines of "X has renewed their F1 contract till 2015". @Clintric:   Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since this article was a re-creation of one deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/AJ Joshi, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Joe Decker (talk · contribs). What organization? The article was about a person. At the AfD, the sources were described as "simply press releases, the subject's own Twitpic account, a crowdsourced directory of business startups, a non-Archived deadlink to a page on planetdnb.com whose URL contains "/forum/10-plugs", and several webpages that don't include the word "Joshi"". Category:Billboard Rhythmic Airplay number-one singles

The category reflect the list of songs that reached number one on Billboard's Rhythmic chart, but the ones who wanted it deleted singled it out because they don't see it as a legitimate chart and given that we have 27 other categories related to the Billboard charts, so I see this as biased and unfair. Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted... This means that content deleted after discussion—at articles for deletion, categories for discussion, or miscellany for deletion among other deletion processes ... will not be overturned through this process. ... Note that requests for undeletion is not a replacement for deletion review. If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion or in applying a speedy deletion criterion, please contact them directly. Mass killings in capitalist regimes

I'm aware that the decision to upload the article was unpopular among the community, but the article's supporters stand firm behind the argument that if a communist version of the page can exist, then a capitalist version also can. I added the newpage template to most recently deleted one, and spent over an hour fixing the links, quotes, etc. The sources used were reliable. The bias was quickly being removed. @Youknowwhatimsayin:. The admin who closed the deletion discussion, user Jayjg (talk) is not currently active, so your appeal should be to WP:Deletion review. JohnCD (talk) 17:15, 31 August 2015 (UTC)
You can start a discussion at Deletion review. If the community decides the article should be recreated then it can be. During the discussion the article can be temporarily restored for people to examine the changes. Chillum 17:15, 31 August 2015 (UTC)

ConsensusDOCS

The ConsensusDOCS page is being completely blocked by a "manager" (not sure exact term), who has been unresponsive. I do not believe it was fairly blocked. He even completely blocked the conversation we had after being unresponsive for over a week. The issue the manager claimed was the webpage was "promotional." I believe he made this determination because the bottom half of the page included the contract catalog, which simply listed the contracts ConsensusDocs publishes. I offered to remove this part, but he did not respond, and ultimately deleted the page. The first half of the page stated facts and history of the company. I don't believe any reasonable person would see this was promotional. I am asking for the page to be reinstated, or at the very least the first half of the page. I appreciate you consideration. Thank you. -17:38, 31 August 2015 (UTC)208.185.217.66 (talk)jorhowar

Judo do summary decisions and not following community discussions

It's a case of pages deleted as a result of summary decisions and not following community discussions The single most glaring piece of misinformation was the claim that Judo do has been an Olympic sport since 1964 It is possible to delete some parts of a page's history, while leaving the current revision of the page intact, so that readers are unaware of the partial deletion (unless they attempt to visit a deleted old page revision) If you think ONLY ONE translated sentence is incorrect!!! French translation = The judo do simultaneously judo entered as a demonstration sport in the Olympic Games program Summer 1964 Tokyo. Check Bibliography =

@Aikikai45:   Not done. If an article starts off with misinformation like that in the first line, nothing in it can be trusted. It is not up to us to comb through the article checking which claims are true and which are not: The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material. I suggest you write a new version at Draft:Judo do, putting in only material that you have verified and can cite to a reliable source. JohnCD (talk) 14:57, 31 August 2015 (UTC)

I, Clintric, request the undeletion of this Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD A7. Please restore the page as I intend to work on it. This submission was declined based on lack of notability. I remain confident that an article on this topic belings in Wikipedia and am continuing to assemble support for its notability.   Not done. I presume you are user User:Aravindkumarp1993. I have looked at User:Aravindkumarp1993/Automatic temperature controlled coat, but I am afraid it would be a waste of time to restore it, because it is not suitable for Wikipedia. It describes your own ingenious invention, but an encyclopedia is not a place to announce new things. To understand this, read the Wikipedia:No original research policy, which includes: "If no reliable third-party sources can be found on a topic, Wikipedia should not have an article about it. If you discover something new, Wikipedia is not the place to announce such a discovery."
You may get some ideas about where you could publish this at Wikipedia:Alternative outlets. @Keith St John:   Declined pending further information. This was undeleted over six months ago with a pledge that it would be worked on, but no edits were made to improve the entry for resubmission. Articles for creation is not an indefinite hosting service for material found to be unsuitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia's article mainspace. We may be willing to restore it again, but only if you provide a definite assurance that you actually intend to work on it and provide a short description of what you intend to do to improve it to meet our policies and guidelines. Please advise.. Please also read WP:Autobiography. JohnCD (talk) 07:57, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
  • Linked to prior request. There was only one edit made to the article and like John said, it wasn't one that would improve it for acceptance to the mainspace. To be very honest, there wasn't any content in the article aside from the infobox. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:23, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

  • The requestor also unilaterally moved Judo to Judo and Judo-do, which I reverted. I'd suggest protecting the latter title as well. How much more AGF are we going to expend on this? --Finngall talk 06:18, 2 September 2015 (UTC)
@Catfish Jim and the soapdish:@WikiDan61: If this is notable enough to be included as a derivative of Judo in the main Judo article, it needs to be notable as a martial art and should be able to stand on its own as a Wikipedia article. My take is that it should be allowed to be tested at AFD.--Aikikai45 (talk) 08:37, 2 September 2015 (UTC)
  • Aikikai45, right now you're facing a possible block from editing because what you're doing right now is extremely disruptive. The article was deleted several times by JohnCD as a hoax. The impression I got was that the article had been deleted because some of the claims were so hyped up in the article that they constituted a hoax. The AfC article was deleted because you requested that it be deleted via WP:G7. Why you requested this is anyone's guess, but I'm assuming that it might have been because you weren't happy that John wasn't allowing a mainspace creation at that point in time. If you want the AfC version restored then that's fine - but it will not be moved back to the mainspace until it passes notability guidelines at AfC. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:05, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nutrilayer, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion. • This is going to be a technical   Not done because there's really nothing to restore here. The reason it was deleted was because of no context and looking at the content, I can see why it was deleted as such. It was only a list of tracks and no other information about the album. It didn't even come close to being an article and restoring it would pretty much require someone to instantly write a new article from scratch. It'd be much better for you to create a new article yourself. You can do this by going through AfC (if you don't want to sign up for an account) or signing up with an account (or into an account if you already have one) and creating the page. Just make sure that it would pass notability guidelines per WP:NALBUM, as musical albums are not automatically notable because the band that created them is notable. On a side note, I would really like to ask that you assume good faith about other editors. While I'm not familiar with this now inactive admin, this particular deletion does not give off the impression of any abuse, nor does their talk page show any overwhelming evidence of abuse. It's generally considered to be very poor manners to come in here and write something that can very easily be taken as an WP:ADHOMINEM attack against another person.
