  •   Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kraftwurx, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user CharlieEchoTango (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:44, 3 December 2014 (UTC)

  •   Not done The article you wrote was fairly promotional in tone, to the point where you'd pretty much have to re-write it from scratch to remove all of the promotional tones. I'm also concerned that the mainspace article was deleted at AfD and declined at AfC. A search doesn't really show anything to prove that this company is really notable enough to merit their own article, so I kind of feel that even if I did restore this article, it'd just be prolonging the inevitable because you'd still have to run it through deletion review in some form or fashion and I really don't see where this company passes WP:CORP to where the prior AfD would be overturned. University of Toronto United Nations Society

It is unfair for the University of Toronto United Nations Society's page to have been deleted for various reasons. The first being that when Jayakumar RG questioned the notability of the page, I sent a response defending the page's notability. This can be found on his talk page, User_talk:Jayakumar_RG. Ronhjones on 20 May 2014 deleted the page. Secondly, aside from the reasons I mentioned on Jayakumar_RG's Talk Page, (separate and distinct organization, does not fit in the University of Toronto wiki, rich history of its own), it has grown significantly over the past few years and become more prominent within the university community. It is unfair for Jayakumar to claim that it is not notable because it was only founded in 2002. I object to the proposed reasons as to why the page is not notable enough. Lastly, the deletion of the University of Toronto United Nations Society page is inconsistent with other Wikipedia pages that exist. There are other wiki sites such as the North American Model United Nations (NAMUN), which is the sister organization and, in spite of the flowery rhetoric put on their wiki, does not have as rich of a history as the United Nations Society. Moreover, the equivalent of the University of Toronto United Nations Society at York University also has its own Wiki page, York University Model United Nations. Both of these wiki pages have less information and less sources than the page I contributed in May 2014. I hope that the wiki page is restored and undeleted for these reasons. If anything, I'm willing to work with Admins to improve the page. Thank you. -Agmateo (talk) 06:56, 4 December 2014 (UTC)

  •   Done Agmateo, I will need to warn you that the existence of other pages (WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS) does not automatically mean that other pages should have articles, as there may be reasons why those other pages can remain on Wikipedia or it may just be that they haven't been deleted as of yet. Other than that, I don't see why this can't be placed in your userspace where you can work on it and provide sources to show that it passes notability guidelines. Just make sure that you're aware that notability can really only be proven by coverage in independent and reliable sources (WP:RS) and that the society's relation to notable organizations (UoT, United Nations, etc) does not automatically guarantee notability (WP:NOTINHERITED). The main cause for concern was that the group wasn't independently notable of UoT and I have to share this concern, as the sources on the page were entirely WP:PRIMARY, meaning that they were released by the group, the UoT, or by someone/something otherwise affiliated with the UoTUNS. @Superman886:   Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/World Professional Boxing Federation, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion. After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. More to the point, Wikipedia doesn't really care about the organization's copyrights or anything like that. We look at whether or not the subject meets the notability guidelines for inclusion. Also, you have a conflict of interest and shouldn't have created the article yourself, as is explained here. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 20:27, 4 December 2014 (UTC)

Not done I did restore to take a look but deleted it again. While this was an abandoned draft and technically qualified for uncontroversial restore, the deletion criteria included WP:CSD#G11, which denotes extremely promotional content. I tend to agree. In my opinion the material was a glorified CV written in an overly promotional, fluffed up manner. Coupled with the three rejections by reviewers, and the fact that it's unlikely it will meet the inclusion guidelines, it's obvious that this is never going to improve. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 23:19, 4 December 2014 (UTC)

I ask that my contribution be undeleted as I put a lot of time into it, and I have not saved it anywhere else. I apologize for my absence, but I have only just arrived home having been away since July.

The page I believe you actually mean has not been deleted. See User:Zambuk074/sandbox (if you don't edit it soon it likely will actually be deleted as abandoned). The page you linked in your request had only one edit by you, had no content but "Thank you FireFlySixtySeven" followed by your signature", and thus was deleted as lacking context.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 00:14, 5 December 2014 (UTC)

ontario glove shooting

Page name might not be exactly as indicated, as I'm going from memory. I remember this page existing and wanted to reference it, but for some reasoning it's gone. I do believe it qualifies as notable, but I'm not a notability expert. There are references in mainstream media for this event, most recently http://www.therecord.com/news-story/2598212-ontario-glove-shooting-20-years-later/ . (I haven't dug up any earlier references, but I could certainly verify the ones attached to the article.) ~~korbitz~~ -Korbitz (talk) 17:30, 4 December 2014 (UTC)

Not done For now. Tokyogirl79 included WP:CSD#G12 in the deletion criteria, which is a copyright violation (pasting text from an external website). We generally don't restore such material, but I will defer to her judgement in this case. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 23:24, 4 December 2014 (UTC)
It was also deleted as blatantly promotional (CSD G11) and really did need quite a rewrite, but looking at the development, I'm fairly convinced this was a backwards copyvio (the blog copied the draft's content) though unfortunately, the Wayback Machine does not have any archived versions to check.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 23:45, 4 December 2014 (UTC)
  • I'd honestly recommend that you just re-write it from scratch. In my past experience I've found that it's just easier to do it this way because it really forces you to look at what you're writing and think about what you need to change. In most of the cases where I've restored very promotional text the users made minor tweaks and left most, if not almost all, of the promotional text behind and it actually took more time and effort to work from the original, promotional text than it did if they were to re-write everything. I'm not sure if this is because the editor honestly doesn't see how it is promotional, if it's because they're looking for the quickest and easiest way to finish the article (ie, make the fewest amount of edits they can), or if it's because they really want to present their topic in the best light possible, but whatever the reason it's usually better with very promotional articles like this one to start off from scratch. To be honest, this is usually what I do with very promotional articles that I've cleaned up in the mainspace- if it's particularly bad I just nuke it and replace it with a new article from scratch. • @Atmarketindia: I also have to note that the page was extremely promotional and looks to be very closely paraphrased from the official website, so it's unlikely that Y will restore the article to its former state any time soon. • @Atmarketindia: Still   Not done. The page was deleted via A7 and will not be restored through this forum, especially since it was extremely promotional in tone and contained copyright violations. (WP:COPYVIO) Your best bet is to start from scratch and write a new article. Posting new requests here will not accomplish anything. Normally I'd suggest deletion review, but I can honestly say that the chances of it getting restored is extremely slim due to the promotional edits and copyright violations. They'd just tell you to write a new version in your own words, without being promotional. To be honest, I'm actually kind of worried that you're just here to promote the designer, especially since your name somewhat sounds like it's representing a business. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:03, 5 December 2014 (UTC)
  • Also, be aware that notability is WP:NOTINHERITED by notable people having worn clothing from this designer and you can only show notability through independent and reliable sources (WP:RS). Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:07, 5 December 2014 (UTC)

@Davidbarklage:   Not done. We cannot publish copyright material on the basis of a claim by someone on the end of a wire, a formal copyright release is required. However, there is little point in making a release for this, because it is too promotional in tone for an encyclopedia article, and (though this is not made clear enough to new users) Wikipedia is not a social-networking site like LinkedIn or Facebook for people to tell the world about themselves. That is strongly discouraged, for reasons explained at WP:Autobiography. JohnCD (talk) 17:38, 5 December 2014 (UTC)

Google searches give different results to different people - a website you have been visiting a lot will appear much more prominently, and a brand-new website that you have never visited might not appear at all, as was the case for me. --bonadea contributions talk 14:09, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
Also, search engine results have no bearing on Wikipedia's notability criteria for inclusion. ~Amatulić (talk) 16:05, 7 December 2014 (UTC)

It may be nominated again unless notability can be established by more references to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. JohnCD (talk) 10:18, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

Discover Exploration Limited

This page was deleted for no apparent reason. Discover Exploration Limited is a company out-of-the ordinary. It is the first oil & gas company to enter the Comoros and the first one to be financed by The Carlyle Group. I provided plenty references from the FT, Reuters, Bloomberg, etc. I would appreciate receiving a valid explanation before seeing my hard work deleted in just a few minutes. -Clipper2014 (talk) 22:42, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

  •   Not done I'm kind of hesitant since the page is fairly promotionally written (at worst) and at best it is written in a very casual tone that is not suitable for Wikipedia. This is likely because large portions of the article was taken from the official page. I do see that there is an ORTS ticket, but it appears to be for an image and not for the content. The thing about giving permission for any official content is that while it may not be considered a copyright violation any more (assuming that it was for the text), the content itself is still considered to be promotional and would still be considered unusable for Wikipedia. Since much of the page was already taken from a WP:PRIMARY source and you'd have to essentially re-write everything anyway, I'd recommend that you just start from scratch and write a new article in your own words in a neutral point of view. On a side note, I did see that all of the sources were primary and much of the article was just you listing various people who have spoken for the society. Please be aware that notability is WP:NOTINHERITED. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:04, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

  •   Not done There wasn't really anything to restore. The content as a whole was "Global Advertisers is India's largest Out-of-home advertising company,Global advertisers owned by Sanjeev Gupta. Global Advertisers offers a variety of out-of-home advertising displays. The Head Office located in Mumbai,India." There was no other content and there were no sources on the page. I have no problem with you creating a new draft of the article, but there really wasn't anything worth restoring- especially since so much of the past edits were unambiguously promotional and even the material posted above was fairly promotional in tone. •   Not done I was concerned that the page read as fairly promotional in tone (or at least way, way too casual for comfort), and it looks like this is because it is taken from the official bio for Drew Garbo. International Conference on Foundations of Software Technology and Theoretical Computer Science

This is one of the top theoretical computer science conference in India. It deserves a Wikipedia entry. -Arindam (talk) 05:50, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

@Arindam: the deleted article's only reference was the conference's own website, but Wikipedia has an inclusion criterion called Wikipedia:Notability which is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." If you can provide such independent references, you are welcome to make an article, but I suggest in the first instance you do it as a draft - click on Draft:International Conference on Foundations of Software Technology and Theoretical Computer Science and make the article there. Tumor (Band)

Tumor (Band) meets more than one of the musicians and ensembles criteria(which includes bands). This article was deleted in order to include it into the Chris Pohl article. As this article does not exist at this moment, a undeletion is neccesary.

Tumor meets the following criteria:

  1. Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent from the musician or ensemble itself.
    • 1998: Neues Fleisch
    • 1998: Neues Fleisch Operation 2
    • 1999: Seelenfresser
    • 2002: Zombienation
    • 2005: Killer Tekkkno
    • 2005: Welcome Back, Asshole!
  2. Has received non-trivial coverage in independent reliable sources of an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country. Tumor performed on X-Treactor Festival on 26 of June of 1998 (Resources: http://www.willemeen.nl/programma/ and http://www.lastfm.es/festival/1238983+X-Treactor+Festival
  3. Has released two or more albums on a major record label or on one of the more important indie labels (i.e., an independent label with a history of more than a few years, and with a roster of performers, many of whom are independently notable), on Fear Section label (as well as many other Chris Pohl albums). Reference: http://www.discogs.com/label/34536-Fear-Section
  4. Is an ensemble which contains two or more independently notable musicians, or is a musician who has been a reasonably prominent member of two or more independently notable ensembles. In this case, Chris Pohl, member of:
  5. Has become one of the most prominent representatives of a notable style or the most prominent of the local scene of a city; Tumor is one of the most representative Electro-industrial and EBM genres.

Thanks for your patience. -J-888 (talk) 18:24, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

Done, more or less. There was no deleted article at Tumor (band) because it had been moved to a user's sub-page and subsequently deleted by user request. I have restored it to Draft:Tumor (band) because the article that was deleted in 2008 isn't fit for main-space publication.
@J-888: Please flesh out the article, including adding reliable sources. Note that sources like discogs are created by users (much like Wikipedia) and is therefore not considered a reliable source for referencing.
I note that Chris Pohl did exist, and was deleted in 2011 via WP:BLPPROD. That article is only a single short paragraph with zero references, and wouldn't be useful to restore. ~Amatulić (talk) 18:42, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

@Djhaldeman:.   Done - in fact, I have done better than just restore your draft.
